Welcome to Yale Housing!
We are happy to welcome you to campus and to the Yale Housing family. This news brief is being sent to all residents to help you prepare for your arrival to campus. Below please find the answers to commonly asked questions about moving in. 


When can I move in? 
Check-In Weekend is Friday, August 19th, Saturday, August 20th, and Sunday, August 21st from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.


Late Check-In by appointment only and must be scheduled in advance by emailing your resident coordinator. Click here for their contact information. 


Can I move in early? 
You must have the approval of Yale Housing in order to move in earlyApproved early arrivals must check in at the Yale Housing Office during office hours (Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.). If you arrive after 4:00 p.m., you must coordinate your arrival with your Resident Coordinator. Click here for their contact information. 


* First year medical students participating in the Medical Outdoor Orientation Trip (MOOT) can check in at the ES Harkness Hall Office on Friday, August 5th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 



* Medical students can move in early into ES Harkness Hall from Tuesday, August 9th to Friday, August 12th between the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. by checking in at the Harkness Housing Office. Students arriving after 4:00 p.m. must contact the resident coordinators to arrange to time to pick up their keys.



Is there a charge for moving in early?
Yes, you will be charged a weekly rate if you move in before August 19, 2016. Please contact the Yale Housing Office for more information.


Where do I check-in?
Check-in at your dormitory during move-in weekend. Addresses are below:

Who is my Resident Coordinator?
Each dormitory has one or two Resident Coordinators. These Resident Coordinators are current graduate students and Yale Housing residents who will help you get acclimated to your dormitory and to Yale. Click here for their names and contact information. 


How do I get to campus from the airport?
There are many ways to get to campus from JFK airport (NY), La Guardia airport (NY), and Bradley Airport (CT). There are shuttle busses, trains, and rental cars. For more information, visit the Yale Transportation Options site, click here.


I am driving to Yale, where can I park and unload my belongings
For Move-In Weekend, there will be 2-3 metered parking spaces reserved for unloading purposes on the street in front of Helen Hadley Hall and the Hall of Graduate Studies. There is a loading dock behind ES Harkness Hall and metered street parking. Between 254 and 276 Prospect Street, there is a small parking lot that can be used to unload your belongings. Please know that these parking options are all temporary.Once unloaded, cars must be moved to a metered parking spot or a local parking garage. Local law enforcement will ticket cars parked in unauthorized spaces or in expired metered spaces. Do not leave your car unattended.
