Wednesday, Sept. 16 Community Forum
Getting There--and Back! Do We Get
Around or Not in the City
And County of Santa Barbara
Mike Becker of the regional Santa Barbara County Association of Governments and Santa Barbara City's Derrick Dailey, Jessica Grant and Peter Brown. Moderator will be Susan Horne, Health Educator, member of the Santa Barbara Transportation and Circulation Committee and Coalition for Sustainable Transportation (COAST).

Community Forums are held the third Wednesday of the month at Louise Lowry Davis Center, 1232 De la Vina Street, from noon to 2 p.m. They are always free and open to the public. You are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch and your friends. Parking behind the center is free during forums.
The Great American Write-In
LWVSB participated again this year as a member of the Pro-Choice Coalition. Local organizations came together to celebrate women's equality day at this 12th annual event.
No September Discussion Unit 

There will be a single Discussion Unit Saturday, Oct. 24 at the Marmalade Cafe in la Cumbre Plaza from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at a cost of $30. The topic will be whether to support a constitutional amendment to overturn the U.S. Supreme Court's Citizens United decision. To make reservations and for more information, click here.

District City Council Candidate Forums
On Nov. 3 Santa Barbara will hold its first District City Council election since the late 1960s. They will all be held 7-9 p.m. The dates and locations are:
District 1: Wednesday, Sept. 30, Franklin School
District 2: Thursday, Oct. 1, Washington School
District 3: Monday, Sept. 28, Harding School

The candidate forums will be recorded and aired on public access television in both English and Spanish and will be on our League website.
