2016 BOARD OF DIRECTOR ELECTIONS
|
In accordance with the Sabre Hockey Association Bylaws, there are seven (7) board positions that are up for election at the April 2016 Sabre Board Meeting: Vice President of Hockey, Treasurer, Communications & Technology Director and four (4) At-Large positions (2 for the Operations division and 2 for the Hockey division). The individuals currently holding the positions up for election are all seeking another term, except for the Treasurer. If you are interested in any of these positions please send a resume and a letter explaining why you are seeking the position to Eric Kmetz, Chairman of the Nominating Committee at [email protected] by Saturday, April 9, 2016. YOU'RE INVITED ~ 2016 SABRE HOCKEY AWARD CEREMONY!
You are cordially invited to attend Sabre Hockey Association's 44th Anniversary Awards Ceremony on Saturday, April 9th from 1-4pm at the historic Rialto Theatre in Downtown Joliet. Sabre Hockey's Award Ceremony is a celebration of our Fall 2015-2016 season where we recognize our teams, coaches and players, from Mites to Midgets, for their achievements during the season both on and off the ice. Players wear their Sabre Jerseys and sit together as a team for this great end-of-season event. Each family will receive a Yearbook at the Ceremony. If you know that your family will not be able to attend the Award Ceremony, please advise your manager. Can't wait to see you there! Doors open at 12:00pm, seating will begin at 12:30pm and ceremony starts promptly at 1pm. This is a FREE Sabre family event and NO tickets are required.There will be snacks and refreshments available for purchase. Thank you, and GO SABRES!

The Sabre Girls 19U team is heading to Burlington, Vermont for USA Hockey's 2016 Girls Tier II National Tournament March 31 through April 4! Good luck, Girls!

SABRE GIRLS HOCKEY INTRODUCES OVER 80 GIRLS TO HOCKEY
IN FEBRUARY & MARCH
 As part of AHAI and USA Hockey's "Grow the Game" initiative, Sabre Girls Hockey recently held two 'Girls Only' Try Hockey For Free Days introducing over 80 new girls to our great sport. Our most recent event on Sunday, March 20 played host to 33 girls. Sabre Girls Hockey would like to thank Rocket Ice Arena for their continued support in growing girls hockey. Sabre Girls Hockey outfitted all 80 girls in hockey gear through AHAI and USA Hockey's One Goal Gear Program and Rocket Ice generously donated rental skates to our participants. Rocket Ice Learn-to-Play instructors also took to the ice along with Jim Clare (Sabre President), Ramey Weaver (12U Head Coach), Keith Mellen (10U Head Coach), Makaila Anderson (12U Assistant Coach), Kayla McCaig (19U Assistant Coach), and Brynn Schlereth (12U team member).

Spring is an exciting time of the year, because...IT'S LACROSSE SEASON. New Wave Lacrosse would like to invite all Sabres athletes (grades k-8) to participate in the best Lacrosse league around! No prior experience is required. You can even use your hockey gear!  SABRE IN-HOUSE HOCKEY LEAGUE
The Sabre In-House Hockey Program provides an introduction to competitive hockey while allowing skaters the opportunity to develop skills before advancing into higher skilled, more time demanding leagues. As a feeder program to the Sabres Hockey Association, our In-House program is the perfect step for that hockey player who wants continued development at a more relaxed pace. Sabre In-House Spring League will begin mid March.
