Is assisted living right for you or your loved one? There's no better time than now to say YES!

Why spend another winter managing icy walkways and escalating heating bills, not to mention home repairs, property taxes, and lawn care? Instead, spend your winter socializing with new friends and enjoying daily activities and planned outings.

Aside from its many benefits including assistance with daily living activities, assisted living alleviates the fear of being alone for those who are aging in their own homes. It's also more affordable than you might think when you consider all of the expenses one has with owning and maintaining their own home. Both Lutheran Crossings and Crane's Mill Retirement Community have assisted living programs that provide 'peace of mind' to both residents and their families.

How will you know if its time to consider assisted living? Create a list of daily tasks that require assistance with completing. Next, make two columns -- one of your monthly expenses and the other listing your monthly income. Finally, sit down with our Director of Admissions at either Lutheran Crossings or Crane's Mill to review your findings. They can help weigh the options between staying at home or moving into an assisted living residence.

You might be surprised by the results you find!
Kevin Moran accepted Campbell's Volunteer Partner Award on behalf of New Visions Homeless Day Shelter.

Some furry friends visited with the residents at Lutheran Crossings during the annual Animal Blessing.
Alex Elefante, LSMNJ's Assistant Disaster Recovery Coordinator, participated as a vendor and shared volunteer opportunities at Burlington County Library's Adult & Youth Volunteer Fair.

Residents and family members of Birchwood Senior Residence joined the Feet in the Street On the Road Walk to help raise money and collect canned goods and socks for the homeless.

In November, LSMNJ will be participating in Alzheimer's Foundation of America's National Memory Screening Program and will offer FREE, confidential memory screenings, administered by qualified healthcare professionals, and will distribute educational materials. The screening will take approximately 10 minutes and consists of a series of questions and tasks designated to gauge memory, thinking and language skills.
