Lutheran Disaster Response

Thank you for giving us the greatest gift of all this year.....
your continued support.
Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey is a unique organization -- as are the employees that work here. Each of us come together to care for people who might otherwise be left behind. And we realize that the true spirit of our work doesn't solely exist among us -- it lies within each of you too. It sparkles, and shines, and surrounds us all. The spirit of LSMNJ is what has called you to volunteer with us, share our mission with others, and support our efforts through your donations.
We appreciate working alongside you, as you embrace our mission of helping those in need. And we couldn't think of a better time of year to say "thank you," than now.
Shelter Prepares for Its New Home & Receives $100K Grant
New Location: 555B Atlantic Avenue, Camden NJ

Volunteers for New Visions Homeless Day Shelter will be as busy as Santa's elves this month, as they help relocate the program to its new location. The homeless day shelter is moving just down the road - a little over a mile from its current location - to 555B Atlantic Avenue in Camden.

New Visions will continue to provide a nutritious breakfast and lunch to Camden's homeless, as well as services such as laundry facilities, mail services, shower facilities, a clothing closet, and assistance with employment searches and housing placement. The new location offers a single-floor layout with additional square footage allocted to expand social service offerings. New Visions will share its new home, in the same building, with Joseph's House (an evening shelter that provides dinner and overnight accomodations).

In October, New Visions received a $100K grant from the Connelly Foundation, which supports local non-profit organizations in the fields of education, health and human services, arts and culture, and civic enterprise. The grant will help fund the relocation and renovations including an expanded kitchen and serving area.

Crane's Mill Recieves A Silver Medal
Each year, Suburban Essex Magazine holds a county-wide search for the best of everything! It reaches out to its readers and asks them to vote on the 'best' in various categories.
Crane's Mill Continuing Care Retirement Community is pleased to announce that it received a second place, silver award, in the category of "Senior Living" -- which included senior housing, assisted living, nursing homes, senior healthcare programs, and more.
Alternative Giving this Holiday Season
This year, cut back on the hustle and bustle and focus on the reason for the season. We know a gift that will always fit, will always be in style, and will be re-gifted.... in the best possible way.
Consider giving the gift of a donation. Honor a loved one, surprise a friend who has everything, or teach a child the value of sharing good fortune. Make a donation in their name to LSMNJ and know that this gift will be just right. Plus, it will be re-gifted through one of LSMNJ's many services or programs.
Donations of any size can make a real difference. Find out how.
Mark your calendars to attend our annual fundraising event benefiting:

Thank you to the many organizations and individuals that donated suitcases and duffel bags to our Adoption Program, so that children would have something, other than a trash bag, to place their personal items into when going into foster care home. We appreciate your kindness and generosity!
