Faculty Career Development Awards are given annually to regular rank assistant professors, providing research support at a critical time in the pre-tenure stage. The funding is to assist faculty as they advance an on-going research project, creative activity, or as they embark on a new project. Awards are made in the form of a lump-sum of $5,000 - $15,000 in research funds. Approximately 30 awards are granted annually. (Mar. 2)

Fellowships for UC postdoctoral scholars support training and research at a Mexican institution of higher education and/or research in the natural, physical or social sciences, humanities, engineering, or computer science. (Mar. 6)

Projects funded are expected to lead to development of major, long term collaborations in the natural sciences, physical sciences, engineering, computer sciences, social sciences, or humanities; strengthening of academic or research capabilities of the participating UC and Mexican institutions, especially in Mexican regional universities and institutions outside of traditional Mexican research centers (Mar. 6).

The Center for the Study of Women offers grants to all UCLA faculty for research development, new project development that may lead to external funding opportunities through CSW, and project completion that could be considered for CSW publications (policy briefs, research reports).
