Award for highly qualified junior faculty from one of the four partnered institutions (UCLA, Cedars-Sinai, Charles R. Drew University, and LA BioMed at Harbor-UCLA) to conduct mentored, interdisciplinary and translational research. The program is specifically designed to meet an important goal of the UCLA CTSI: To provide the next generation of clinicians and researchers with the training they need to conduct research across engineering, physics and other disciplines to improve health (Feb. 1).

Webinar for social scientists on how to identify and understand which programs within NSF and NIH fund social sciences, what reviewers are typically looking for, and common mistakes to avoid. The webinar will also cover out to identify private foundations that may be interested in funding your social science research (Dec. 7).
Webinar for faculty researchers on the differences between mission agencies (e.g., DOE, DoD, USDA, NASA, etc.) and basic research agencies such as NSF and NIH. The webinar will cover how to understand mission agencies, how to identify and approach program officers that may be interested in your research, what to ask, how to develop concept or white papers, quad charts, and full proposals (Jan. 28).
