The purpose of the event is to provide an opportunity for the campus and local communities to come and meet with our staff and interns, to hear a brief presentation on a variety of topics relevant to intellectual property and entrepreneurship at UCLA and to ask questions and network. This month's topic: "Make in LA - An Early Stage Accelerator for IoT, Robotics, VR, etc." (Dec. 2). 


Attend an informational seminar and training session to help de-mystify the process surrounding establishing industry sponsored research projects with for-profit companies, securing the receipt and transfer of materials for use in research, and all associated issues and common questions surrounding these research activities at UCLA. The Energy Institute invites interested researchers to submit papers for the POWER Conference on Energy Research and Policy. Topics of interest can be found by clicking here. Paper submissions are due January 9, 2017.

Webinar on NSF CAREER and other grants specifically for junior faculty. How to identify the right grants and how to write those proposals. Emphasis will be on the NSF CAREER, but other early career grants will also be discussed (Nov. 9).
Webinar discussing grants that fund instrumentation and equipment and how to develop a successful proposal for those grants (emphasis will be on NSF Major Research Instrumentation and NIH Shared Instrumentation Grants, but other funding programs will also be discussed) (Nov. 15).

Webinar on the NIH covering the agency's organization, mission, funding mechanisms, priorities and a step-by-step discussion of how to write a research proposal to NIH (Nov. 30).

A revised version of the NSF Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide (PAPPG), (NSF 17-1) has been issued. The PAPPG has been modified in its entirety. The document will now be referred to solely as the NSF Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide. Given the number of important revisions, the community is strongly encouraged to review the by-chapter summary of changes provided in pages 2-8 of the PAPPGClick here to view webinars designed the brief the community on the new PAPPG.
