Startup UCLA seeks to develop a culture of startup thinking on campus by connecting UCLA students with LA's digital startup scene.

The CTSI Training Program in Translational Science was developed to provide clinicians with the necessary training to become successful patient-oriented investigators who can bridge molecular medicine and clinical research. Participants have a high commitment to clinical research and must have either professional health degrees or a doctorate. In addition, participants must be affiliated with UCLA, Harbor-LABiomed, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center or Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science.

The purpose of the program is to stimulate evidence synthesis and creative thinking around a pressing public policy problem confronting California. The winner of the competition will deliver a Public Lecture at the Center during Winter Quarter, 2017; prepare a short White Paper and Policy Synopsis that the Center will disseminate broadly; and receive travel support, editorial support, and a research stipend totaling up to $10,000 (May 16).
