The symposium takes place October 23.
We are pleased to announce the first call for proposals for research grants in furtherance of achieving the goals of 100-percent renewable energy, 100-percent locally sourced water, and enhanced ecosystem health and human health and well-being by 2050 in Los Angeles County as described in detail in the Sustainable LA Five-Year Work Plan. The purpose is to fund research identified in the Work Plan, and to catalyze new lines of research and new collaborations across campus. the deadline is October 26.
You have an opportunity to submit and/or vote for ideas to reduce compliance burden related to grants and contracts through an on-line survey initiated by the Federal Government.

In a world where a growing number of people lack food, water and sources of energy, providing these resources has become a challenge. To find new answers, the NSF has funded 17 grants, totaling $1.2 million, to support workshops on the interactions of food, energy and water, or FEW. Additionally, $6.4 million will supplement existing grants, enabling scientists to conduct additional research.

Stewardship Roundtable with Private Funders on
October 29 will provide faculty with an opportunity to hear firsthand from medical research and other institutional health funders on what good stewardship means to them. More info above.

UCLA OIP-ISR wants to help you license research tools you've created to assist in conducting your research. This usually results in money going right back to your lab! See the flyer for more information.
