Fulbright Italy - Grant in Deafness Studies
Award: Unspecified
Deadline: October 14, 2014
This scholarship allows a graduate student to conduct research, to teach, and/or collaborate on new projects in deafness-related fields in Italy. The program is aimed at improving the lives of deaf and/or deaf-blind children; improving the lives of deaf adults; improving infrastructure accessibility for deaf individuals; strengthening specific areas of expertise that are lacking in Italy.
GLMA: Health Professionals Advancing LGBT Equality - Lesbian Health Fund
Award: Up to $10,000
Deadline: October 15, 2014
The Lesbian Health Fund (LHF), a program of GLMA: Health Professionals Advancing LGBT Equality, was established in 1992 to define, study, and educate lesbians and their health care providers about lesbian health issues. LHF's mission is to improve the health of lesbians, other sexual minority women (SMW) and their families through research.
MAP Fund - Grants for Contemporary Performances that Embody the Spirit of Exploration and Deep Inquiry
Award: Typically ranges up to $45,000
Deadline: October 15, 2014
MAP is particularly interested in supporting work that examines notions of cultural difference or "the other," be that in class, gender, generation, race, religion, sexual orientation or other aspects of diversity.

Mott Foundation - Grants for Civil Society and Pathways Out of Poverty
Award: Typically ranges up to $250,000

Supports the vision of a world in which each of us is in partnership with the rest of the human race - where each individual's quality of life is connected to the well-being of the community, both locally and globally. We pursue this vision through creative grantmaking, thoughtful communication and other activities that enhance community in its many forms.

New York Public Library - Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture - Scholars in Residence Fellowship Program
Award: $30,000
Deadline: November 1, 2014
The Schomburg Center residency program assists scholars and professionals whose research on the black experience can benefit from extended access to the Center's resources. Fellowships funded by the Center will allow recipients to spend six months in residence with access to resources at the Schomburg Center and other research units of The New York Public Library.
Open Society Foundations - Soros Justice Fellowships
Award: Up to $110,250

Fellowships fund outstanding individuals to undertake projects that advance reform, spur debate, and catalyze change on a range of issues facing the U.S. criminal justice system. The foundation aims to reduce the destructive impact of current criminal justice policies on the lives of individuals, families, and communities in the U.S. by challenging the overreliance on incarceration and extreme punishment, and ensuring a fair and accountable system of justice.
Princeton University - Society of Fellows in the Liberal Arts
Award: Approximately $85,000

The Postdoctoral Fellow for the Study of Race and/or Ethnicity will be expected to pursue research that explores the discursive forms and meanings of concepts of race and ethnicity in one or more selected disciplines in the humanities and social sciences.   The selection committee particularly welcomes applications from candidates whose scholarship is driven by innovative, interdisciplinary, and historical ways of thinking-- including interests in pre-modern and non-western cultures.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is committed to supporting research that will increase scientific understanding of the health status of various population groups and improve the effectiveness of health interventions and services for individuals within those groups.  High priority is placed on research on populations that appear to have distinctive health risk profiles but have received insufficient attention from investigators.  This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) highlights a particular community:  lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and related populations (designated here as LGBTI populations).  Basic, social, behavioral, clinical, and services research relevant to the missions of the sponsoring Institutes and Centers may be proposed.

The University of California President's Postdoctoral Fellowship Program was established in 1984 to encourage outstanding women and minority Ph.D. recipients to pursue academic careers at the University of California. The current program offers postdoctoral research fellowships, professional development and faculty mentoring to outstanding scholars in all fields whose research, teaching, and service will contribute to diversity and equal opportunity at UC.

National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance - 2014-15 E-Team Program
Award: Up to $75,000
Deadline: October 3, 2014 (Stage 1)
Provides early-stage support and funding for collegiate entrepreneurs working on market-based technology inventions. The program enhances this opportunity by providing expert entrepreneurial and venture coaching, experiential workshops, and a potential investment opportunity to help realize the commercial success of the technology inventions and innovations that come through our organization.

NIH - Women & Sex/Gender Differences in Drug and Alcohol Abuse/Dependence (R21)

The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to advance research on male-females differences in drug and alcohol abuse and addiction and on factors specific to women. Both human and animal model studies are sought.
