The Connecticut Nursery and Landscaping Association held their Winter Symposium and Expo at MCC on January 4. The Connecticut Nursery and Landscape Magazine also featured the PlantConnecticut project at MCC.

March 2013 Events Calendar Submissions

February 5, 2013 is the deadline for submitting information for the February Calendar of Events. Please use the Calendar Request Form to submit items. Feel free to contact Paula Raum, x2915, with any questions regarding the printed calendar advertisement.

 

Free Income Tax Service

Free Income Tax Service will again be offered this year at MCC in the SSC building room L233. The United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut is the organization responsible for this event. Volunteers will be available for assistance on Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. beginning on January 25 and ending on April 13 (excluding March 29-30). Although walk-ins are welcome, particpants are encouraged to call 211 to set up an appointment. Assistance with the FAFSA will NOT be offered this year.

Open Mic for Local Musicians

Come join us downtown as MCC on Main hosts an Open Mic for local musicians from 6 pm to 8 pm. Come meet local musicians, play a few songs or just come by and enjoy live music while relaxing in the beautiful and relaxing Dhen art gallery where the event will be hosted. Live on Main series presents The Guinea Pigs

The Guinea Pigs are local CT musicians known for their fun music consisting of folk and rock standards with a Guinea Pig spin on it, as well as, some originals. The Guinea Pigs have performed at the Coventry Farmers' Market, the MCC Farmers' Market and other CT venues. Baby Face Morgan is a 1942 American comedy-drama film. When Big Morgan the Mob boss dies, Morgan's son, Baby Face, takes over. What Baby Face and his cousin Ollie don't know is that they're supposed to be the bag men for the mob. When the Mob comes looking for their money, the comedy and drama begins. Come join us for an afternoon of popcorn, a beverage and comedy-drama. The Web Designer/Front-End Developer, under the direction of the Creative Director/Webmaster, is accountable for participating in publicizing the college to its external and internal audiences by performing front-end web markup and maintenance, basic programming, graphic design, artwork, layout and production of materials in electronic media. Spring 2013 State In-Service Training Program Catalog

The Spring 2013 State In-Service Training Program catalog is now available. The registration deadline is February 11. Please be sure to complete the registration form (one per class) and have it signed by your supervisor. Once the form is signed, please forward it to HR.  If you have any questions, please contact Donna Nicotera, x3613.
