Work/Life Newsletter
Spring 2013
I hope that 2013 is off to a good start! Often, people make resolutions which have to do with maintaining a healthier work/life balance. This could be a number of things: getting their finances in order, developing better parenting skills, or talking to their supervisor about different work schedules.  Some of the workshop and resource information offered in this newsletter may be helpful.

Please mark your calendars for the free 2nd Annual Financial Fair for Personal Finance, which will be held in the International House on April 11. This will be a great opportunity to speak with many UC affiliated financial vendors and attend educational workshops on a variety of financial topics such as understanding the UC Retirement System, investing, and accessing online tools on the UC Focus on your Future website.

If you feel a personal meeting with me to discuss your work/life situation would be beneficial, please call me 642-7883 to schedule an appointment. Appointments are free and confidential.

Take care,

Wendy Nishikawa

New UC Eldercare Resource

The University of California has a new program that is part of the Select Plus (formerly called Sittercity) program. The Years Ahead Program provides certified senior care advisors for guidance and access to specialized facilities including memory and hospice care, independent and assisted living communities, in-home healthcare and companion care. The Sittercity Program (available since January 1, 2013) helps you find babysitters, nannies, pet care, tutors, housekeepers, and individual senior caregivers.

The cost of the membership for both programs is paid by the University of California and is completely free to you. You pay only for the services of the caregivers you hire.
