 Message from the President Joan Fabbro
The month of May will be the first time that CAPhO holds the association's conference in Newfoundland. I am so looking forward to hearing first hand matters concerning the region as well as experiencing the friendly and unique hospitality that I have heard so much about. Did you know Newfoundland has their very own dictionary and encyclopedia first published in 1982 and contains hundreds of words and phrases you'll find nowhere else!
The Town Hall, taking place on Saturday, May 24th at 08:30 - 09:15, is an opportunity for you the member to share your ideas and ask questions of the Executive Committee who work on your behalf. We will also share updates on our work during the Annual General Meeting taking place on Saturday, May 23rd at 12:00 - 13:00. Plan to attend both events as we need to hear from you.
See you in St John's, and remember to spread the word about the benefits of CAPhO to your colleagues, and cast your vote for the treasurer position.

Awards and Travel Grants Update
CAPhO will present the Distinguished Service Award and Merit Award recipients at the CAPhO Conference 2015. You - as a member of CAPhO - are welcome to nominate yourself or a colleague, who is a member, for one of the two awards! For more information on the awards and how to submit a nomination, review the descriptions on the CAPhO Awards & Travel Grants page of the CAPhO website. The application information is posted under "Distinguished Service Award" and "Merit Award" respectively.
Congratulations to Naureen Sheikh for winning the CAPhO Conference Travel Grant! Naureen will share her experience from attending the CAPhO Conference 2015 in St. John's in the June newsletter.
There are many symposia and conferences geared towards oncology pharmacy practice that are open to pharmacists and pharmacy technicians/assistants to attend at various locations around the world. The Wild Card Travel Grant is available to help cover the cost of attendance. CAPhO invites its members who are attending an event to apply for this travel grant. There are two $1,000 grants available each year. One grant is for events between January and June and the other for events between July and December. Please note that members can receive this award more than once but not more than once per calendar year. The deadline to apply for a Wild Card Travel Grant for an event between July and December is on June 30th.

CAPhO Conference 2015 Update
Change, Challenge and Opportunity

The CAPhO 2015 Planning Committee has prepared a jam-packed program that will leave you motivated and inspired! First session descriptions and speaker biographies are posted on the website. Make sure you also review the diverse slate of satellite symposia that our sponsors have prepared for you.
Conference registration is open until Tuesday, May 12th.

CAPhO features Clinical Pearls for Practice in the CAPhO Compass blog. Each Pearl is written by a CAPhO member regarding a topic pertinent to clinical oncology pharmacy. The Pearls can be viewed in the CAPhO Compass page of the CAPhO website.

Tool to Promote CAPhO
The Member Only section of the CAPhO website includes a PowerPoint slide that members can use to promote our Association in any presentations that they may give to audiences with potential members and / or conference attendees.

Be a CAPhO Ambassador
Because you are CAPhO's best ambassador, encourage others to become a member of CAPhO. For your efforts you will have a chance to win a complimentary registration to CAPhO Conference 2015. All you have to do is, sign in as a member and forward the email found on the Minutes and Documentation page to your colleagues and others so they can sign up too. Be sure to tell them to enter your name during the online payment process. The contest for CAPhO Conference 2015 registration ends on April 8th, so make sure to recruit a new member by then. The winner will be announced the week of April 13th.
