It's Pizza Time for Week 12!

Finally after all the intense heat, we've had some rain-- and how. Hope everyone's gardens came out unscathed from the storms! The moisture has been appreciated down on the farms, though, and we have another huge bag for you guys because of it all.

What's in the bag: it's time to make some pizza! Everyone will get 2 balls of our freshly made pizza dough. They contain just whole wheat flour, honey (Vegans-- if you keep honey-free, please request a substitute at pick up), kosher salt, yeast, sunflower oil and water.

The Omnivore Share subscribers will get a 1# bulk package of our Italian Sausage, and the Large Share subscribers, Vegetarians and Vegans will all have some sweet corn, melons and kale. There is a 6 oz piece of Flat Rock Abondance-style (like parmesan) cheese from Canal Junction, and the Large Subscribers will also get a half-pint of our Candied Jalapeņos which make a delicious pizza topping.

Oh, and just so many tomatoes-- Romas, Heirlooms, and cherry tomatoes. In case you also have over-producing tomato plants in your backyard and they're crowding your countertop, here is our Tomato Guide and our Pinterest Board dedicated to "All Things Tomatoes." Did we mention you're also getting peaches and blackberries and peppers and leeks? It's a huge bag, so make some salads and pizzas and invite over the neighbors.

Also, please post your pizza creations to Facebook or Instagram and tag us-- we love to see what you guys do with your shares!

Pizza Pinwheels are a delicious, kid-friendly, and easy weeknight dinner or after-school snack!

1) Allow dough to thaw in fridge, then set on countertop to double in size (app 30-45 min.)

2) Prep your ingredients (tomato sauce, browned meat or sliced pepperoni, some shredded cheese and sliced peppers) while dough rises.

3) Set oven to 425.

4) Roll dough flat and thin on a cornmeal dusted counter top.

5) Spread a thin layer of toppings, sauce first, onto the pizza crust.

6) Roll up the long way, use some water to pinch and seal the edges, and slice into 1/2" pieces. Arrange on a baking sheet.

7) Bake 10 minutes, reduce heat to 375 and bake an additional 10 minutes until golden brown, optionally adding some extra grated cheese on top for the last 2 minutes.

Reminders
Rocky River's stop is moving across the street from Market.

We are moving the Rocky River pick up location right across from Market restaurant on Ingersoll and Linda. We've been using the big truck lately (super helpful with these big bags and how big this stop has become) but we're clogging up Market's lot and we need some more wiggle room!

We'll have a chalkboard sign up and you'll see the truck from the street. See you on Saturday!

Tomato Sauce

No need to be bashful about it-- our Tomato Sauce is ridiculously good. If you're not up for making your own sauce (try Parker's Pizza Sauce recipe), pick up a few pint jars this week for pizza sauce for your homemade pies!

Just $6 per pint, each of which is stuffed full of tomatoes, spices, fresh herbs and olive oil.

Blackberries

We have a haul of blackberries this week-- pick up a few extra pints to make a blackberry jam or blackberry-peach cobbler, or just freeze them on a cookie sheet and pop them in freezer bags for smoothies!

$5 per pint, $9 for two, or $45 for a flat of 12.

Side of Beef

We have one side of grass-fed beef for sale from Wholesome Valley Farm-- please call (800) 861-8582 or reply to this email right away to claim it!

It's cut into Trevor's preferred cuts (email us for cut list), and the hang weight is 367# (usable yield is roughly 60% after processing.) Normally $3.90/lb hanging weight on sale for $3.75 (plus kill fee $25 and processing fee of $0.50/lb.)  Total cost for this side: is $1584.75.

 From Trevor:

"These are some of nicest steers we've ever had down at Wholesome Valley. A cross between Standard and Low-Lying Angus (smaller framed animal that fleshes out better on grass.) One thing you look for when finishing out beef on grass, which is leaner than soy/corn fed beef, is a full and fatty brisket, and fat rump around tail like hockey puck on either side. If you get that on grass you're doing really well with your grass program, and these are great."

There is only one, so if it sells out we'll put you on an interest list for fall (whole, half and quarters will be available.)
