Hi there!
It's Week 9 and the last weekend of July already??
If the calendar didn't prove it, this hot & humid weather would! But we still can't believe it's already Week 9 of the Summer Share. Don't worry though, there is still plenty of time left in the share and all these gorgeous fruits and vegetables-- we run clear through the end of October for a solid 22 weeks. Hope you've been enjoying your share so far, maybe you're trying some new recipes and vegetables that you may have never seen before, and have noticed the difference in quality in eating a super local diet.
What's in the bag: we have a delicious bag coming your way this week! The omnivores will have some of our turkey breast lunchmeat (made without nitrates), and everyone will get some sweet cherries and a huge portion of vegetables: yellow waxy beans, green peppers, cucumbers, carrots and more. The vegetarians will get a trio of fruits on top of the sweet cherries: blueberries, 6 or 7 Lodi Apples (not the best "eating" apple, but great for making into sauce (just peel, core and cook down with a little cinnamon), and an Asian 'Sun Jewel' melon, which has a white, honeydew-like flesh. The Large Omnivores will also get a bulk packet of salt and pepper pork sausage and the Large Vegetarians will get some cauliflower and sweet corn! Maybe a mixed grill or Veggie Fajitas?
Thanks to everyone who came out to the Vegan & Raw Foods Class last night at Market Garden Brewery-- it was a delicious and inspiring class! In case you missed it, check out Chef & Fitness Professional Marisa-Dicenso Pelser's Company RawTrainer-- a catering & meal-prep service so you can enjoy all the health and wellness of a raw foods diet even if you don't have the time or know-how to make it yourself!
