Hi there!

It's Week 9 and the last weekend of July already??

If the calendar didn't prove it, this hot & humid weather would! But we still can't believe it's already Week 9 of the Summer Share. Don't worry though, there is still plenty of time left in the share and all these gorgeous fruits and vegetables-- we run clear through the end of October for a solid 22 weeks. Hope you've been enjoying your share so far, maybe you're trying some new recipes and vegetables that you may have never seen before, and have noticed the difference in quality in eating a super local diet.

What's in the bag: we have a delicious bag coming your way this week! The omnivores will have some of our turkey breast lunchmeat (made without nitrates), and everyone will get some sweet cherries and a huge portion of vegetables: yellow waxy beans, green peppers, cucumbers, carrots and more. The vegetarians will get a trio of fruits on top of the sweet cherries: blueberries, 6 or 7 Lodi Apples (not the best "eating" apple, but great for making into sauce (just peel, core and cook down with a little cinnamon), and an Asian 'Sun Jewel' melon, which has a white, honeydew-like flesh. The Large Omnivores will also get a bulk packet of salt and pepper pork sausage and the Large Vegetarians will get some cauliflower and sweet corn! Maybe a mixed grill or Veggie Fajitas?

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Vegan & Raw Foods Class last night at Market Garden Brewery-- it was a delicious and inspiring class! In case you missed it, check out Chef & Fitness Professional Marisa-Dicenso Pelser's Company RawTrainer-- a catering & meal-prep service so you can enjoy all the health and wellness of a raw foods diet even if you don't have the time or know-how to make it yourself!

MISSING IN ACTION!

Attention all Vegetarian Subscribers: Please be on the lookout for orange bags that may be in your house, car, bike basket, or stroller. They are on the loose!!

In all seriousness though, we are running low on all bags, especially the vegetarian bags (the orange ones) and they are very expensive to replace. Please remember to bring your bag back every week to your stop. Thanks!
Reminders

Don't forget to register your vacation if you are heading out of town.

Quick reminder on our Vacation Policy: you can take up to four weeks off from the share, and get the bags' worth of credits back when you return.

You have three ways to register your vacation:
  • Tell your greeter
  • Reply to this email
  • Sign into your account and click "Manage my subscription" and then click the "Vacations" tab.
For example, if you're a Small Share subscriber, and you are taking off two weeks in August, register them right away and when you return you'll have $50-$54 in credits in your account to spend on food (depending on if you signed up during Early Bird or Regular Season.)

A heads up: vacation credits are only good for purchases going forward, and cannot be applied to a balance you've already racked up. Also, vacation credits diminish by half after four weeks, so you need to spend them within a month of when you return!
