5 Eggs per Chicken per Week

Our laying ladies produce on average one egg per day. So why count only 5 per week? Well, sometimes they like to lay them inside Trevor's truck, or in the cow's pasture, so we give them some weekly wiggle-room. Click here to learn more about our laying hens and their delicious eggs.

5 Bag Options for Summer Share

1) Small Omnivore
  • This is our most popular option. The Small Omnivore Share comes in a bright green bag and is our "base" package. The bags feature some type of meat (almost every week, we only have a few all vegetarian weeks during the summer), a bunch of vegetables and fruits, and sometimes you'll see grains, pastas, dairy or eggs. The cost works out to about $27 per bag, or $594 for the season.

5 of Our Amish Farms
Pleasant Valley Poultry
Baltic, OH
Pleasant Valley is owned and operated by the family of Aden and Wilma Troyer in Baltic, Ohio. They have a brand new processing facility located right on the family farm. They raise and butcher many of our chickens and our Thanksgiving Turkeys. They strive to process your poultry in the safest, most humane and economical manner.
Wholesome Valley Farm
Wilmot, OH
Wholesome Valley Farm is our biggest supplier. This Organic, Amish-managed farm raises Berkshire hogs, Freedom Ranger chickens, and many other animals on pasture. On the produce side, they grow eggplant, sweet potatoes, onions, and potatoes and more each year. This is also the main location for our Farm Tours and Threshing Day events. Their partner dairy is Paint Valley Creamery right up the road-- the source of our delicious Golden Guernsey Milk.

Stutzman Farms
Millersburg, OH
This family-owned farm supplies us with Certified Organic (since 1957!) granolas, flours, and other grain products (like spelt berries and honey-puffed spelt.)
Family members (including their 5 young children during the summer break) and neighbors help out in the mill and kitchen.

David Yoder's Produce
Homerville, OH
This Amish farm is very private, and feels like a truly special place that is worlds away from the bustle of the "big city" up North.  David and his family provide us with a lot of our produce, most notably almost almost all of the heirloom tomatoes that we carry, as well as sweet potatoes, kohlrabi, and many more vegetables.

Jonas Hershberger
West Salem, OH
Jonas supplies us with literal tons of onions, potatoes, spinach, tomatoes, strawberries, raspberries and blackberries every year. He also provides us with almost all the green and string beans we carry. He is an extremely reliable and industrious farmer: over the winter when the farm isn't as busy, he works construction, and in between he and his wife have also managed to have 10 kids (one of them pictured above.)
