Hi there

This is the last week of the Summer Share, and we want to thank you all for making it the best one yet.

As we mentioned last week, to date we have put more than $2 million dollars back into the hands of local farmers this year. This is an incredible feat-- money that is staying in our communities and encouraging new generations of young farmers in Ohio that it's worth it to try their hand here. This is ensuring that not only will we get to eat food grown with the utmost care for the soil and our health, but that the next generation of eaters will, too. Thanks for making this possible, and for your choice to eat local.

We have a tasty bag for you this week, and for those of you signed up for our Winter Share, plenty more where that came from! Can't bear the thought of not picking up your Guernsey milk and pastured chicken eggs next week? There's still time to sign up for the Share! Just click here, answer four questions, and you're in.

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING OUR BUSINESSES

Here are some of the farmers who supply the food for your share. Because of your commitment to local agriculture, they can support their families and continue to grow their farms and operations.

End of Season Checklist:

Paid off Summer Share Balance:

It's officially the last week and that means it's time to check into your account and settle up any balance that's owed.

You can't sign up for Winter until your balance is fully paid, so make sure you do that soon!

If you have any questions, please reply to this email or give Lyn a call at 800-861-8582.

Brought back all bags:

Bags are expensive to replace! Please bring back all those bags you may or may not be stockpiling in your trunk.

Your last bag of the Season can be dropped off at a Winter Share stop or just bring it to us next Summer if you're not joining us for Winter.

Bringing cash to make any extra purchases:

Because it's the end of the season and accounts need to be paid in full, please bring cash to the stops to make any extra purchases this week.

Extra purchases made at the truck can only be made with cash or check this week-- we cannot put any purchases on account unless you are using a pre-existing credit.

Signed up for the Winter Share:

Promotions and Specials

Corn Plates on Sale: Just $15

Local ceramics artist Gina DeSantis developed a product line just for Fresh Fork Market. Each item is hand-crafted by the artist herself, and to see more of her amazing work just visit her website, or stop by the Screw Factory (the home of our Lakewood pick up) during one of their many open studio events.

The Corn Plates come in a pair of 2 and we've reduced the price from $25 to just $15! They make a great Host or Hostess gift for Thanksgiving, or would look great on your table as a bread and butter or appetizer plates!

New Product: Apple Butters for $7

We have a new product for sale this week-- Apple Butter with Honey and Spiced Apple Butter. The apples and the cider are from Eshleman's Fruit Farm, and the other ingredients are just honey, or honey and fall spices (think nutmeg, cinnamon, etc.)

Our Apple Butter is made in a huge copper kettle, stirred continuously for 6+ hours (depending on how cold it is outside!) with a white oak paddle. Those of you who came down to the Farm Tour may have seen this happening during lunch at Wholesome Valley. It's a very traditional preparation, and it makes for some delicious Apple Butter.

Try it on a cheese plate, spread on a sandwich (one of our favorites: brie, leftover turkey, lettuce, and red onion and good crusty bread), on top of pancakes, or instead of frosting on a cake.

It's for sale for $7 a pint (16 oz.). Available for sale at the back of most trucks this week as well as by Special Order.
