Time for Week 17 and the first official day of Autumn.

Tomorrow, September 23rd, is the official first day of Autumn  2015 and marks the countdown to the end of your Summer Share-- only 6 weeks left! We have an abundance of Fall and end-of-Summer flavors in this week's bag-- delicious Butternut-Sage linguine from Ohio City Pasta, Fall and Summer squashes, tomatoes and more.

The pasta is a special collaboration between Fresh Fork & Ohio City Pasta-- we bring them the organic whole wheat flour from Stutzman, organically grown butternut squash from Wholesome Valley, and then a bunch of eggs too small for market (laid by the Poulets before they start laying full-size eggs) from our pastured chickens. It's a great flavor combination, and it's in all of your bags this week (vegans have Pinto Beans instead because of the eggs.)

We still have some excellent events coming up this Fall before the share is over: first up, the Customer Appreciation Barbecue is this Sunday down at the Hill n' Dale club. Bring a side dish to share and the whole family for this awesome event. After that, we have a Braising & Fall Vegetables class this coming Monday, and then a bunch of great events in October (the Farm Tour and Cabbage Mania, keep your eyes peeled for invitations in your inbox soon!) Last, but certainly not least, our Thanksgiving Beer Pairing dinner in November (RSVP coming soon, too!) right at the start of our Winter Share. Lots of great chances to come out and learn more about how to cook your share, and celebrate with the rest of the Forkers.

Save the Date for the Farm Tour on October 10th!

Also, the Salmon Delivery is coming up in three weeks. You still have time to get in on this order, so click here to learn more or here to sign into your account and place your order.

~ BRAISING & FALL VEGETABLES ~
Monday, September 28th 6-8:30pm

You know that smell-- a warm pot, roasting in the oven for hours, meat falling off the bone and veggies slowly caramelizing... it's the reason (besides the cold!) we abandon the grill and go into the kitchen when the weather starts to turn. And that magic technique, braising, is the focal point of next week's class.

$30 per participant covers instruction, recipe/technique packet, and a ton of amazing food served in multi-course tastings.
