Hi there

The Summer Share is heating up with Week 4.

We have had some really warm days and a lot of moisture continuing over the past week, and it's doing wonders for some of our veggies. Not as great for the more tender salad greens and berries, but we're up to our ears in squashes, bright green broccoli, rainbow chard, and more.

We're really excited about the variety in this week's bag-- green onion brats, lots of beautiful greens like bok choy and kale, as well as a pint of cherries on top.

Here are some reminders and details about the program that are good to highlight:

Please write your email address on every check you write.

If you want to buy a pie, pay off last week's extras, AND pay your monthly installment-- great! Cash, check or invoiced to your credit card all work.

If you decide to use a check, please write your email address associated with your account on it every time. This is especially important when, as often is the case, your personal information printed on the check is different from your account information.

Our berries are best eaten the day you get them.

We know how much better an un-sprayed berry tastes and how much better it is for the environment, so we've made a commitment to dishing out berries that are pesticide-free. They are a perfect taste of Summer when eaten as soon as possible.

A lot of time, our berries don't even make it all the way back home (especially when the kiddos are asked to hold onto the pints in the back seat.) If you absolutely cannot eat your berries within 24 hours, then click here to read more about how to freeze your summer fruit to use later in a smoothie or a sauce.

We will be making all the regular routes on Saturday, July 4th.

Just wanted everyone who picks up on Saturday (looking at you, TREMONT, BRATENAHL, ROCKY RIVER, COPLEY-FAIRLAWN, MENTOR):

We will be making our regularly scheduled pick ups on Saturday, July 4th.

If you know you're going to be out of town, then have a great time! You can schedule a vacation, or click this link to see where we will be earlier in the week.

Our Berries

Thank you guys for working with us through this really wet June. The rain last week made for very poor quality strawberries, and we decided to pull the berries out of most of the bags. Some stops still got strawberries, but not all. Some stops also got cherries as they came on by surprise on Thursday, because it ew had a dry spell.

We keep close track of which stops get what items so that we can be fair to all customers. For those who did not receive berries last week, we'll try our hardest to get them for you this week. With as wet as today is, I have low expectations.

Over the next few weeks fruit will continue to ripen. We will see the end of strawberries give way to cherries, black raspberries, and blueberries. Please enjoy your fruit as quickly as you can. Ripe, chemical free fruit has a very short shelf life (especially in high humidity, which mold loves). Thanks and take care!

Early-Summer Veggie Bowl

This Fresh Fork "Buddha Bowl" is the healthiest "kitchen-sink" recipe around: steamed and sautéed vegetables on top of whole grains and beans, served alongside quick pickles and a nutty dipping sauce makes for a deliciously healthy and easy lunch.

Double Beet Pasta

The whole beet is used up-- leaves, stem and bulb-- and whipped into a pesto. Stirred into warm, whole wheat pasta and snuggled around a steamed whole egg, this is a great meatless meal.
