About this week: I've been saving this idea for a good couple months, waiting for the weather to really turn bad. Well I think this week defines ugly.
The theme this week is a meat loaf bag with two core ingredients - 100% grassfed ground beef and pasture raised, Berkshire ground pork. Based on what I've been hearing at the back of the truck...this also gives you time to catch up on the produce that has been accumulating in your fridge!
In addition to the meats, we have carrots, jumbo white stem bok choy, butternut squash, turnips, and a salad mix.
For the large customers, I have a very special treat this week. That is refrigerated sauerkraut. Sauerkraut is made using what is called "lactofermentation." The idea is that bacteria from the air cause the product to ferment, hence preserving it. In the process healthy enzymes are created. These enzymes assist in digestion, which helps your body get the nutrients it needs from your food.
This is a 100% organic product, made with organic cabbage and organic pink salt. The product is still "alive" so it must remain refrigerated....otherwise it will continue to ferment and just explode the bag after some time!
So here is this week's full package:
