Thanking Unsung Heroes

Next week is Public Service Recognition Week, which has been celebrated the first week of May since 1985. As part of this national recognition, the village is saying thank you to all the men and women who serve our community as government employees.

A video was shared at the April 26 Village Board meeting to recognize and congratulate some of the "Unsung Heroes" of the village - employees who may not always be visible or serve on the front lines but who provide equally important and critical support in maintaining the village's programs and services. Schaumburg thanks all of its employees for their continued dedication in contributing to the success of our village.

Donate Books to Help Impoverished Families in the Northwest Suburbs

The Village of Schaumburg's Robert O. Atcher Municipal Center will serve as a collection site for donated books for the annual book drive for the Woodfield Area Children's Organization (WACO). A collection box will be available from May 2 through May 14 at the west doors of the municipal center located at 101 Schaumburg Court. Donations include new and gently-used books for preschool-aged, young and older children. WACO's goal is to help foster good reading habits by providing impoverished families in the northwest suburbs with their own reading materials.
