videoSchaumburg Police Introduces New Video Sharing Partnership Program
The Schaumburg Police Department is introducing a new video sharing partnership program that will allow property owners the ability to share video with the police with the intent to reduce crime and aid in the apprehension of criminals.

The program is available to any property owner within the village's municipal boundaries that has private video surveillance that can record public areas such as streets, sidewalks, parking lots, etc. The program is voluntary and requires no cost from property owners.

To register for the program, users must submit a registration form to the police department that is available on the village's website. Once the form is submitted, the police department will follow up to confirm enrollment in the program and users will receive a small, reflective decal if they wish to display it on their property to help deter crime. There is no fee to register and information will be kept confidential. Participants can opt-out of the program at any time. For additional information about the program, visit the website.
chiliEmployee Chili Cook Off Raises Money for Those in Need
The village's annual Chili Cook-Off and Bake Sale, which is coordinated by the Schaumburg Police Department, was held recently and helped raise a total of $1,939 in funds. The money raised will be used to purchase necessities such as gas, groceries and clothing as well as Christmas gifts for two less fortunate families in Schaumburg this holiday season. Proceeds will also benefit one of Schaumburg's firefighters, Mike Solberg, who is battling grade four glioblastoma brain cancer.

A total of 13 crock-pots of chili were offered this year for employees to taste and vote for their favorite. The winners were as follows: First place, Modie Eggebrecht; Second place, Neal Jones; and Third Place, Citizen's Police Academy Alumni Association. Congratulations to all employees who participated in the event to support a good cause.

  • Have trees and bushes trimmed to avoid areas of concealment.
  • Utilize external lights whenever possible.
  • Lock valuables in a quality safe.

I-90 Tollway Updates
The Roselle Road bridge project will take a two-week break over the holidays. The contractor will be performing some cleanup work yet this week but then the site will be quiet until the first week of January.

The Meacham Road bridge contractor will continue to work on the bridge and pavement through the holidays. Most of the work will take place inside the work zone to reduce any traffic impacts. Temporary traffic signals are operational along Meacham to help guide residents and commuters across I-90 during the holiday season.

Before the end of the year the I-90 contractors will move traffic to the new pavement. That work will take place overnight, so please use extra caution as crews install the new lane lines and signs to open those new lanes. Be sure to visit the village's website for further information and other updates on this project.
