Calling Schaumburg Businesses & Organizations

Schaumburg has a long history of helping those in need. To foster this initiative, the village is inviting area businesses and organizations to an information session to learn more about how financial contributions can help the village's Police Social Services Unit. The session will be held at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7 at the Schaumburg Police Department, 1000 W. Schaumburg Rd. Social services staff will offer an informal breakfast while they provide a brief overview of the village's program. Tours of the police station will also be provided to those who are interested. For additional questions and to RSVP to the information session, please call (847) 524-1505.

prepareSeptember is National Preparedness Month: Plan for Locations
While there are warnings for many types of potential disasters, many emergencies and disasters occur without any warning. Since you can't predict where you will be for disasters, it is important to have plans and supplies for the locations you and your household go to regularly. Planning ahead will ensure that you and your household will know what to do and have the supplies you need to be safe wherever you are.

Individuals and households should consider the locations they frequent; find out what plans are available for these locations, and customize their personal and household plans based on what household members would do if an emergency occurred while they were at that location. For examples of locations to plan for and what types of plans to create, visit the website.
