citizensurveyCitizen Survey Deadline Extended to October 21

In August, the village sent out questionnaires to a random sample of 1,200 households requesting feedback on the quality and usefulness of village services as part of The National Citizen Survey™ that is being conducted this year. The Village of Schaumburg is one of more than 300 jurisdictions in the United States participating in the process.

To continue to gather valuable data that will be used in future decision-making, the village is extending the deadline for households that are responding to the mailed questionnaires. Residents can submit their information until Tuesday, October 21.

The results will be included in a final report that village officials can use to guide future budget decisions and development within the village. In addition, the standardized survey will allow Schaumburg to draw comparisons with similar communities in the region and across the country.

The village thanks those households that have completed and submitted their questionnaires. For those who have received a survey and have not yet turned it in, please do so before the deadline - your opinion is important. For more information on the survey, view the full press release.

ebolaGet the Facts About the Ebola Virus

Ebola, previously known as Ebola hemorrhagic fever, is a severe, often fatal disease. The first known case of Ebola with illness onset and laboratory confirmation in the United States occurred in Dallas, Texas, on September 30, 2014, in a traveler from Liberia. At this time Ebola does not pose a significant risk to the U.S. population, but the medical and public health community across the country is taking it very seriously, working to ensure systems are in place to identify, isolate, test and treat people with Ebola-like symptoms and prevent the disease from spreading.

The Cook County Department of Public Health has information posted on its website to inform people about the virus, how it is transmitted and how medical responders are working to keep themselves and others safe from contracting the virus. Included on the web is also a factsheet with important information for those who want to learn more.
