Schaumburg/Barrington Intersection:

Contractors will be returning to the site next week to begin the final punchlist work.  There are several driveways that are going to be repaired or removed and replaced. All businesses will be notified and the contractor will ensure there is always access open for shoppers.

Tollway Update:

The Meacham Road bridge contractor completed the installation of temporary pavement earlier in July. Bridge demolition, including some night work, will begin on Monday, July 21.

The Roselle Road bridge project will focus on work south of I90 until various Utilities relocate their cables and pipes that are in conflict with the bridge work north of the Tollway.

Clock Tower at Town Square:

The village is working with a contractor to perform masonry repairs to the clock tower and columns around Town Square. This work is schedule to begin on July 7 and should be completed by mid-September, depending on the weather.  Work is being coordinated with the events scheduled for this area.

2014 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Survey:
On July 16 the village's contractor began their work on the 2014 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project. This project consists of slip lining existing sanitary sewer at various locations throughout the village. The first operation is sanitary sewer cleaning and videotaping the condition of the sewer. The next step is the slip lining of the sanitary sewer where needed. Residents will be notified of any disruptions to their service prior to any work commencing on their specific sanitary lines.
September

The 44th Annual Septemberfest Celebration is on August 30, 31 and September 1, 2014 on the grounds of the Robert O. Atcher Municipal Center, at the intersection of Schaumburg Road and Summit Drive.

The event will feature an arts & crafts show, bingo, carnival, local and national entertainment on three stages, Taste of Schaumburg, fireworks on Sunday evening, Labor Day parade, Not-for-Profit Day, Miss Septemberfest competition, and free shuttle service. The Septemberfest program will be included in the fall edition of the Cracker Barrel.

You can get involved in the 2014 Septemberfest Celebration by:

Becoming a Septemberfest Sponsor: It is anticipated that up to 250,000 people will attend the festival. Businesses that provide sponsorship receive excellent exposure and contribute substantially to the success of Schaumburg's premier event. There are seven donation options available this year, each offering a variety of benefits. The Local Small Business package is a new donation option that is designed to help promote local business in the area. This option is only available to local Village of Schaumburg or Schaumburg Township independently owned and operated non-franchise businesses employing 10 or fewer employees.

Signing Up To Volunteer: Morning, afternoon, and evening shifts are available. Volunteers receive a complimentary T-shirt, free parking and a Septemberfest grounds pass for the day they volunteer. Call the volunteer hotline at 847.923.3637.

Competing in the 2014 Miss Septemberfest Contest: Young ladies between 16 and 19 who are U.S. citizens, residents of the Village of Schaumburg, and who have never been married are encouraged to participate in the Miss Septemberfest Contest, held in conjunction with Septemberfest. The 2014 Miss Septemberfest will participate in festival activities and various events throughout the year. The winning contestant and her court begin their duties by presiding over opening ceremonies for the fest and the Septemberfest parade.
