Requests may be entered for village services, inquiries about village business practices, or you may forward opinions and questions regarding any village activities.

Calling 311 is the quick and easy option to reach the village Customer Service Center for non-emergency requests. Customer Service Representatives are available 24/7 to provide information on village programs and events and to enter service requests for a variety of issues.

Walnut Lane
Reconstruction Project
The Walnut Lane Project is a $2.5 million dollar project to reconstruct Walnut Lane from Golf Road to Bode Road. This project is being implemented to improve the safety of the roadway, as well as address the deteriorating pavement and enhance the adjacent landscaping.
Construction will be substantially complete by November 2013, weather permitting. Visit the website to view information that will be updated regularly.

Schaumburg Road Project
The Schaumburg Road project is a Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways (CCDTH) project to patch and diamond grind Schaumburg Road from Roselle Road to Barrington Road.
Construction will be substantially complete by the fall of 2013. The project will be split up into three sections.The section near the high school will be done over the school's summer break.

Overnight Parking
Parking on village streets is prohibited between the hours of 2:30am and 6am - violators will be ticketed. If you need to park your vehicle overnight, you must contact the Police Department for permission. Overnight parking is limited to five requests within a 30 day period and will not be granted when there is two inches or more of snow fall. Residents may request overnight parking by calling 3-1-1 within Schaumburg or call the Police non-emergency number at 847.882.3586.

Police Beat Meetings
Beat meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at 7:30pm in the Community Room of the Martin J. Conroy Center located at 1000 W. Schaumburg Road.  Municipal Aggregation Implementation Update  On April 23, the Village Board approved the selection of First Energy Solutions as the ICC licensed alternative retail electric supplier to provide electricity to residents and small businesses throughout Schaumburg at the rate of 5.08 cents/kWh for brown energy and 5.16 cents/kWh for green energy. Eligible residents should receive opt-out letters between May and June.
The village's aggregation program will not affect how customers receive electricity, report outage, or pay bills. Under the aggregation program ComEd will no longer be generating electricity, but they will still distribute the electricity and continue to be responsible for billing issues and power outages. Fair Housing Survey
|
 The village is requesting input as we analyze and review important fair housing programs and policies. A survey will be used to evaluate and assess current fair housing choices within Schaumburg. The survey results will be used in the preparation of the Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing choice, which reviews barriers or obstacles to fair housing in the public and private sectors. The village appreciates your feedback and information.

Pay Your Water Bill By Phone

 A new Pay-By-Phone option is available for water bill payments. Use a credit card to pay your water bill over the phone by dialing 1.877.690.3729. Enter Jurisdiction Code 2319 when prompted and follow the instructions.

Village Animal Licenses Discontinued as of May 1

 Schaumburg residents no longer are required to purchase an animal tag for their pets. Lost pets will be identified through microchip reading and cross-referencing of Cook County rabies vaccination records.

Brush Collection Starts This Month
| |
 Schaumburg's Brush Pick-up Program runs for 24 weeks from May through October. It is not necessary to call for brush pick-up or to create a Customer Service Request, just follow the schedule listed here. It takes crews up to four days to complete the curbside brush
collection.

Schaumburg Germany Exchange: May 9 - 12

From May 9 - 12, the village will host a group of visitors from the County of Schaumburg, Germany. The visitors will stay with host families who have graciously offered to share their homes. Some of their activities will include tours of the public safety services, the Schaumburg Township District Library, St. Peter Lutheran Church and School, Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel & Convention Center, and a trip to Chicago.
The village is grateful to those who have supported, hosted, and offered complementary meals for these exchanges. It is with this type of community support, these guests experience the best Schaumburg has to offer.

Public Works Open House: May 21

The Schaumburg Engineering and Public Works Department is celebrating "National Public Works Week" from May 20 - 24.

 In conjunction with the American Legion Post 1983 and VFW Post 2202, the villages of Schaumburg and Hoffman Estates, as well as other community groups and volunteers, a Memorial Day Observance will be held again at St. Peter Lutheran Church.

Annual Flag Day Picnic: June 14

 The annual Flag Day picnic for area seniors is scheduled for June 14. Festivities will be held outdoors on the plaza (between the Municipal Center and the Prairie Center for the Arts) and will begin at 10am. The program includes a flag ceremony, guest speakers, a patriotic sing-along, lunch, and bingo. Tickets are available on a limited basis and may be purchased for $4 and should be obtained before May 31 at the Schaumburg Barn, 231 S. Civic Drive.
Program sponsors include the Village of Schaumburg, the Village of Hoffman Estates, Schaumburg Park District, Schaumburg Township, Schaumburg Township District Library, Community Nutrition Network, Manor Care, Harris Bank, Michael's Funeral Home , Friendship Village, and Visiting Angels. Golden Corridor Update

 | | The students were treated to a tour of Sandvik's training center and warehouse to get a better understanding of what manufacturers do and the various jobs available. |
The villages of Schaumburg and Hoffman Estates have been working together with several local manufacturers over the past three years to address the workforce needs and issues facing manufacturing. This grass roots effort between the communities, manufacturers, high schools, Harper College, and Northern Illinois University have resulted in several open houses and internships to raise awareness about career opportunities in advanced manufacturing in the Golden Corridor.
Sandvik Coromant recently hosted students from Helen Keller Junior High School on April 29. This was an opportunity for eighth grade students to hear from a Schaumburg manufacturer on career opportunities.
