Host Families Needed for May 9-12 German Exchange
Between May 9 - 12, the village will be hosting visitors from Schaumburg, Germany. To ensure our guests receive an authentic American experience, the Schaumburg Sister Cities Commission is looking for host families for these guests.
Host responsibilities include providing breakfast and dinner, and transporting your guest to/from the daily group meeting locations. In return for your hospitality, you will have an opportunity to visit Schaumburg, Germany as part of one of Schaumburg Sister Cities program's upcoming exchanges. The cost of the trip will be quite reasonable because when you travel to Germany, you would stay as a guest with a German host family.
If you are interested in being a host family, contact Mary Nagy or 847.524.1245 or Gertrud von Fragstein at 847.839.0992.

With the consultant's assistance the village will continue with implementation as outlined below. The village is looking to host the two public hearings by early March to review the Plan of Operations and Governance with residents and small business owners. Municipal Electric Aggregation Implementation Process: - Referendum passed on November 6
- Review of Consultant's proposals
- Plan of Operations and Governance created & Ordinance (approved at Village Board meeting)

Care Track Emergency Response Team
The village has a program aimed to assist special needs residents who may go missing. It's called the Care Track Emergency Response Team Kit. People with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Alzheimer's, or other similar conditions may wander from their homes and not be able to find their way back. These individuals are often unable to communicate their name or address to emergency responders. The family can purchase a transmitter the size of a wrist watch that the special needs person can wear on their wrist or ankle. Schaumburg Police officers are trained with the Care Track equipment and can track the radio signal to quickly and safely return the person to their loved ones.
Schaumburg families with special needs family members who would like more information about the program are requested to contact Sgt. John Nebl at 847.348.7276. | |

Featured Business of the Month: Entre Commercial Realty
Dan Benassi and Dan Jones co-founded Entre Commercial Realty in 2006 after several years in the commercial real estate industry. They set up an office in Schaumburg and it has proven to be a very good location to conduct their business and attract employees.
The company prides itself on taking a hands-on approach to solving their clients' real estate objectives and is focused primarily on industrial real estate throughout metro-Chicago and provides a wide range of services.
In 2008 Entre's principals entered into a joint venture with Dave Smith to form a sister company called Iris Construction Services. Iris is a full-service commercial construction and maintenance services company. Iris specializes in construction, retrofit, remodel, and market-prep work for warehouses, manufacturing facilities, office buildings, and retail properties.
Entre provides corporate real estate services throughout metro-Chicago as well as nationally through its affiliation with SIOR, the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, which is a network comprised of the top 5% of commercial brokers in the country.
