HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

We must be having fun, 'cause time's a-flying! Can you believe it's already February?  Time to do that reality check on the New Year's resolutions, and if you missed our last edition, you'll want to read what we suggested regarding your pets and the new year. To view that, or any past issue of the Spotlight, click here.

In this issue of the Spotlight, we focus on matters of the heart. We begin with an article on your pet's heart health, and then there's a discussion of how you can celebrate Valentine's Day with your pets (and their hearts) in mind.

There's always something fun and exciting going on at Bewaggle, and we're excited to share our news and information with you. Read on and share in the excitement!

All the best,

Anchor1Warning Signs of Heart Disease in Pets
Heart disease is a common problem in both cats and dogs, and early detection is key to a pet's prognosis.  As a pet owner, you should be on the lookout for these symptoms and alert your veterinarian right away if any of these are present.
  1. Coughing in dogs, and vomiting in cats
  2. Difficulty breathing
  3. Changes in weight or appetite
  4. Depression / Behavior changes
  5. Fainting
  6. Weakness
  7. Restlessness
  8. Pain in hind legs (especially in cats)
  9. Swelling in the abdomen or limbs
  10. Isolation
Remember that your pets rely on you to keep them healthy. It's your responsibility and your duty. If you see any of these symptoms, contact your vet immediately.  Heart disease is serious, but treatments can be very effective, and early detection is key.
Article1Valentines for Your Pets
Last year, Americans spent nearly a billion dollars (yep, billion with a B) on Valentines gifts for their furry friends.
$815 Million, to be precise. We bought treats, and sweaters, and bedding, and toys, and bling. And some of these gifts were actually things the animals enjoyed.

This year, why not refocus that spending on making a difference in the happiness and health of the cats and dogs that share our lives.

This Valentine's Day, w
hy not get your furry friends what they really want and need? Here are a few suggestions.

  1. A gym membership (also known as Doggie Daycare).
  2. A daily scheduled time with you when you can give him your undivided attention and love.
  3. A personal trainer (a Bewaggle Dog Walker) to get him off the couch and into the fittest condition of his life.
An investment in your pet's health can pay dividends for years to come. This year, skip the bling and go for something that truly shows you care.

Article2aBewaggle is HIRING!

We need some great pet sitters who live in West Volusia or Seminole County.  The ideal candidate will:
  • Be a true animal lover, first and foremost!
  • Have at least 10 years work experience. Not necessarily in the animal care industry, but we need people with a proven track record of excellence and professionalism.
  • Have complete control over their own schedule.  We can't work around school and work schedules, as our clients' needs have to come first. This could be a great fit for retirees and the self-employed!
  • Have basic computer skills and a functional home computer and printer.  (A smart phone is not a requirement, but it's a huge advantage.)
If you or someone you know would like to get paid to play with pets, all the information and the application are available on our website. Click here to learn more.
