November is Pet Cancer Awareness Month
With Halloween behind us, Americans are looking forward to a busy and festive holiday season, and Bewaggle is gearing up for the rush! We hired two more sitters in October, and are still looking for a few more, as the business continues to grow. The holiday season and the coming year are looking merry and bright!
But in this issue of the Spotlight, we want to share some important information about something far more serious. November is Pet Cancer Awareness Month, so we're doing our part to bring awareness about the number 1 killer disease in cats and dogs. We've included two articles on the topic that we hope will help you in caring for your own pets.
And in this season of thanksgiving, we also take a moment to mention a few of the many things for which we are so very thankful.
There's always something fun and exciting going on at Bewaggle, and we're excited to share our news and information with you. Read on and share in the excitement!

Pet Cancer Facts
|
November is Pet Cancer Awareness Month, and we want you to know the facts!
- Cancer accounts for nearly 50% of all disease-related pet deaths each year.
- Approximately 1 in 4 dogs develops a tumor of some kind during his lifetime.
- Dogs get cancer at roughly the same rate as humans.
- Although cancer is not as common in cats as it is in dogs, the cancers found in cats tend to be more aggressive.
- Many pet cancers can be cured, and all patients can be helped to some degree with a proactive plan to provide supportive therapy and pain management.

Because cancer is the most common cause of disease-related deaths in dogs and cats, it's important for all pet owners to know what to watch for. The following symptoms may be signs of cancer, and should be evaluated by your veterinarian should they appear in your pets.
- Lumps and bumps.
- Wounds that won't heal.
- Abnormal discharge.
- Abnormal odors.
- Changes in appetite.
- Unexplained weight loss.
- Depression and/or lethargy.
- Coughing or difficulty breathing.
- Evidence of pain.
If you see any of these in your own pets, talk to your veterinarian. Early diagnosis can save lives!

We are SOOO Thankful! |
We have so much to be thankful for, as individuals, and as a company. The following list is just a small sample of the many blessings we're thankful for.
- Thankful we get to work every day in a business we love.
- Thankful for our pet sitters - the awesome women who have chosen to work with us and for us in this amazing new venture.
- Thankful for the wonderful people who trust us with their beloved pets, without whom there would be no Bewaggle.
- Thankful for the animals we share our lives with - both at home and at work - who make this world a better place to be.
- Thankful for the encouragement and support we receive from family and friends - the people who know us best, and love us anyway!
- Thankful for our freedoms and liberty, and for the men and women in uniform who sacrifice to keep us free.

Bewaggle is HIRING! |
We need some great pet sitters who live in Seminole County, specifically in the cities of Lake Mary, Heathrow, Longwood, Altamonte Springs and Winter Springs. The ideal candidate will:
- Be a true animal lover, first and foremost!
- Have at least 10 years work experience. Not necessarily in the animal care industry, but we need people with a proven track record of excellence and professionalism.
- Have complete control over their own schedule. We can't work around school and work schedules, as our clients' needs have to come first. This could be a great fit for retirees and the self-employed!
- Have basic computer skills and a functional home computer and printer. (A smart phone is not a requirement, but it's a huge advantage.)
If you or someone you know would like to get paid to play with pets, all the information and the application are available on our website. Click here to learn more.
