SEPT 2014

Bewaggle is the nation's only pet sitting company to offer this premium level of professionalism AND security. That much you might already know.  But did you know we also offer dog training?

Whether you have a new puppy, or have recently adopted an adult dog, a new pet in the household deserves some special attention to be sure you start off on the right foot.

Does your dog jump on your guests when they arrive at your door? Is he destructive when you're not at home, destroying toys, shoes, furniture or other belongings? Does he pull uncontrollably on the leash when you take him for a walk? These are just a few of the behaviors we can teach you to control. Imagine how much happier you'll be when your dog's behavior is a point of pride instead of a source of frustration.

If you or someone you know has a dog that would benefit from some effective training, please give us a call.  An investment in proper training can pay for itself many times over.

There's always something fun and exciting going on at Bewaggle, and we're excited to share our news and information with you. Read on and share in the excitement!

At your service,

Marianne

September is the peak of hurricane season, and the named storms will be coming at us over the next few weeks. And you don't have to live in Florida to get hit by a natural disaster! If you haven't done so already, now is definitely the time to prepare your home, your family, and your pets for a possible disaster.

In the event of an emergency, you'll need be prepared for an evacuation.  There are several things that you can do now to make an evacuation much easier on your pets.
  1. Get him used to being in a crate.  If your dog or cat isn't already crate trained, he should be.  If you end up in a shelter, he'll be crated for the duration.  If you're lucky, he'll be allowed in the shelter with you, but often pets are not allowed. But wherever he goes, he'll be stressed and crated, so teaching him to feel safe and at ease in the crate at home will help a lot!
  2. Pack his "Ready Bag".  Include his food, medications, and dishes. He'll also appreciate some toys and treats to ease his stress. Also take along a spare leash, a supply of pet waste bags, a first aid kit, and his medical records.
  3. Have a travel crate ready.  If you end up in a shelter or hotel, he'll need to be crated, and if you don't have one ready, buying one in the midst of an emergency will be difficult if not impossible.
  4. Get more tips from the Federal Emergency Management Agency's brochure on Preparing Your Pets For Emergencies.
Article2aBewaggle is HIRING!

We need some great pet sitters who live in West Volusia, and Seminole Counties.  The ideal candidate will:
  • Be a true animal lover, first and foremost!
  • Have at least 10 years work experience. Not necessarily in the animal care industry, but we need people with a proven track record of excellence and professionalism.
  • Have complete control over their own schedule.  We can't work around school and work schedules, as our clients' needs have to come first. This could be a great fit for retirees and the self-employed!
  • Have basic computer skills and a functional home computer and printer.  (A smart phone is not a requirement, but it's a huge advantage.)
If you or someone you know would like to get paid to play with pets, all the information and the application are available on our website. Click here to learn more.
