JULY 2014
Greetings!

Here's what's new:

Last month, we introduced our new logo and our new mascot. This month, we're working on a new website that will make it easier for you to communicate with us, and provide us with some new and better ways to serve our loyal followers.

I have some amazing personal news to share with you: My husband has moved home permanently! Well, pretty much permanently. He'll still be making the occasional trip to Turkey, but he'll be home al lot more than he's there. The company he works for is expanding their operations, and he's heading up their effort to launch a new manufacturing facility here in central Florida!  He's been in Turkey for four years, and I am so happy to have him home at last!

A couple of weeks ago, Paula and I made the gut-wrenching decision to cancel the Bewaggle Pet Expo. We've crunched the numbers and have determined that our time and money are  better spent this year on enhancing our Internet marketing.  So rather than hosting an event that was anything-less-than-awesome, we've opted to postpone it until next fall. That frees up some resources to bring the website and Social Media campaigns to the forefront, where they belong.

The new website is a major undertaking, and I'm not sure how soon we'll be ready to launch it.  But we're working on some awesome content, and some new capabilities that we think you're going to love. So stay tuned!

There's always something fun and exciting going on at Bewaggle, and we're excited to share our news and information with you. Read on and share in the excitement!

At your service,

Did you know that more pets go missing on July 4th than any other day of the year?  Please don't let it happen to your pets this year!

We Americans love our fireworks, but most of our pets don't.  In fact, most dogs and cats are terrified by the loud booms.  All too often, they take off running - trying to escape the threatening booms.  And when they hear it again, they just keep on running.

Statistics show that more pets are lost on July 4th than any other day of the year, and it's directly related to fireworks.  And sadly, many of those pets are never recovered.  Their owners are left with the heartbreak of knowing their pets are lost, alone, and terrified - or worse.

Please don't let this happen to your pets. Enjoy your holiday and festivities without them. Keep them safely indoors whenever there are fireworks and firecrackers in your area.
Article2 Summertime Treats for Your Pet
Summer is here, and the heat can be very dangerous for our four-legged friends. It's best to keep them indoors during the hottest times of the day, and when they have to be outdoors, be sure they have plenty of shade and fresh water.

You can also help them stay cool by providing some frozen treats like the one shown here.

These are easy to make. Just find a rubber or plastic mold that won't crack in the freezer, then add the fun.  Plain water is fine, or you can use a little beef or chicken broth (keeping the sodium levels low).  Toss in some toys, kibbles, chunks of bananas or peanut butter, or anything that your pet would find appealing.  Then freeze it solid. It will entertain him and help to cool him off when he's out with you for a picnic or barbecue.
Article2 Impressive Dog Training
At Bewaggle, we believe in using only positive reinforcement and reward-based training techniques, and we know they work!  We never punish a dog in any way, and the video below is a prime example of how well these techniques work.  You'll see Paula using both hand and voice commands, and Fiona is delighted to respond because she really wants the toy that Paula's holding.  Then, you'll see her get that toy, and happily relinquish it when Paula asks to have it back.  It's actually very impressive.
