We've got this!
This month we are delighted to announce that we are now serving many parts of Seminole County! It's not easy to find and hire the perfect pet sitters, but we believe we've done just that in each of the areas we service, and that now includes most of Seminole County! To find out if you're in one of our service areas, just give me a call.

Spring Break is just around the corner, and you might be thinking about taking a vacation. If so, please read the article below called "Who's In Your House?". Especially if you have someone you trust coming over to feed and walk your pets while you're away, it's important to know the real-life facts to protect yourself, your home and your pets.
As the weather starts to warm up, we'll all be experiencing one of the down sides to warm weather - ticks. Pets that have access to the outdoors are susceptible, even if you have them on a Flea & Tick preventative medicine. Our second article will teach you the right way to remove a tick if it latches onto your furry friend.
In case you missed the big announcement in our last issue, please mark your calendars now for the Bewaggle Pet Expo, on October 4th, at the Central Florida Zoo! We've just launched the website, so you can get the full scoop at www.BewagglePetExpo.com.
There's always something fun and exciting going on at Bewaggle, and we're excited to share our news and information with you. Read on and share in the excitement!

Who's in Your House? |
Let's assume that you are about to leave town on a business trip or vacation. You've arranged for someone you trust - your sister, your neighbor, or a pet sitter with excellent references - to take care of your pets and your home until you return. That's great, but there are a few facts that we want you to know before you hand over the keys.
- You've left detailed instructions about your pet's care, feeding, medications and preferences. Fact #1: Those careful instructions are largely ignored by many pet sitters, once you're out the door.
- If your pet sitter gets sick, or busy, or has some sort of emergency come up, she's going to hand your house keys off to someone else. Fact #2: That "someone else" is almost certainly going to totally ignore your careful instructions. And they are even more likely to pass the job on to yet another "someone else".
- Fact #3: Once you leave town, you have no idea who's going to be in your house, and who will have complete, unfettered access to everything you own, and everything you are. Your pets, your property, and your personal information will be openly available to anyone your sitter trusts with your keys. And those people will know you won't be home.
- Fact #4: Bewaggle Pet Sitters are employees (not independent contractors), so we have a lot more control over the things that matter to you. If one of our sitters gets sick or busy, she can only hand your house keys off to another Bewaggle employee. And every Bewaggle employee is thoroughly screened, fully insured, and professionally trained. No matter what, your home and your pets are in the very best of hands.
- Fact #5: Sometimes it's not just about who's watching your pets. Sometimes, it's about who's watching your pet sitter! At Bewaggle, our systems and our on-site supervisors help us assure that every job is done according to the client's careful instructions.
Just one more reason it makes sense to Be Wise... Bewaggle!

Removing Ticks from Your Pet |
OOOH YUCK! Your pet has come in from a romp in the yard, and there's a tick stuck on him! No worries! You can handle this! And these simple tips will help assure the best result for your pet.
- Don't delay. You might think it would be better to take the animal to your vet and let the vet perform the tick extraction. But even a sloppy extraction is better than a delayed one. So do it yourself, as soon as you see the problem. The longer it's attached, the higher the risk of disease, so get it off as soon as you can.
- Use tweezers (or even your own fingernails, if that's all you have available).
- Grasp the bug as close to the pet's skin as possible, and just pull it off. If it appears that part of the bug is still in there, wash the area, but don't fret. Most bites will clear up on their own.
- Recheck every few hours to be sure there's no swelling or redness at the site of the bite. That could indicate a skin infection that should be treated by your vet.
Even indoor pets can be at risk, so all pets should be on a Flea & Tick preventative medicine. If yours isn't, please talk to your vet about it.
