Wow! Summer has flown by and the 43rd Annual Oktoberfest is about to kick-off! This summer we celebrated the 40th Annual Helen to the Atlantic Hot Air Balloon Race and the Helendorf is celebrating its 40th Anniversary!
Join the City of Helen and the Helendorf to celebration of Helen's 100th Anniversary. Saturday, August 31st, the postponed Independence Day fireworks will light up the sky. Soon Oktoberfest will put everyone in the mood to do the chicken dance!! Leaf change in the beautiful North Georgia mountains will be here before you know it.

100th Anniversary - All American Lumberjack Show!
Dates: September 6th & 7th, 2013
Location: Helen, Georgia Information: 1-800-858-8027 Helen is celebrating it's 100th Anniversary this year! As part of the Centennial Celebration Events the city will host a Lumberjack Competition. The All American Lumberjack Show will include Lumberjacks performing ten events consisting of log boom racing, racing hot saws, log rolling, cross cut sawing, ax throwing, spring board tree tipping, obstacle pole racing, and chain saw carving. The event will also include giveaways and an autograph session. There will be three, thirty-minute shows, one being "Kids' Lumberjack Sport Camp" and chain saw carving demonstrations between shows.
The Helendorf is the perfect riverfront location to stay. You can attend the festivities then relax by the tranquil waters of the Chattahoochee River on our new river patio. Helendorf Reservations - (800) 445-2271

Join us for the 43rd Annual Oktoberfest in Helen, GA! Helen's biggest celebration! German music, dancing, food & drinks! Enjoy Waltzes, Polkas and the Chicken Dance! Oktoberfest will run from September 12 - 15, and then reopen daily beginning September 19 and continue through October 27, 2013.
The Helendorf is directly across the street from the Festhalle. Polka the night away then waltz back to your riverfront room to put your feet up and relax!!!
