Thank You

New Year's Resolution

Make 2014 the best year ever for you and your horse. Resolve now to always have your horse's stool tested before you deworm your horse. You'll be doing your part as a responsible horse owner to help slow the development of resistant parasites by avoiding unnecessary deworming. Your horse will appreciate it, too, if you only deworm when absolutely necessary! Dr. Byrd can answer any questions you may have about your horse's deworming program or getting started with fecal egg counts. He's just a phone call, email, or Facebook post away and no question is too small or silly-we only learn by asking.

Let's face it, sometimes it's just easier to listen than to read, especially if you are short on time and who isn't these days. If you'd like a quick lesson on strongyles, tune in to Horses in the Morning radio. Dr. John Byrd was interviewed on October 23, 2013. Hosted by Glenn the Geek and Jamie Jennings, the interview starts at about 58:00 minutes and lasts about 20 minutes or so. In addition to hearing about strongyles, encysted strongyles and the effect of strongyles on your horse's health, you'll hear Jamie's testimonial about Horsemen's Laboratory for her horses. You can listen to the interview at http://www.horsesinthemorning.com/hitm-for-10-23-2013-by-back-on-track-trivia-winners-horse-country-tv-all-about-strongyles/.
