Military Academy Nominations
Congratulations to our three seniors Tanner Clemons, Jack Marsh, and Jacob Wynn who have each received Military nominations from Representative Gwen Graham this past week. This is one very important step in being accepted at the military academies of their choice.

5th Grade Step Up Day
Please make plans to attend our 5th Grade Step Up Day on Tuesday, January 26th at 12:20 pm. You can meet the 5th grade classes on the breezeway by the HS gym at 12:10 pm. Parking is available on the west and north sides of the gym. Following an informational meeting, the 5th graders will tour the Middle School building and visit the 6th grade classrooms.
4K Step Up Day
Parents please join us on Tuesday, February 2nd as we visit the Kindergarten classrooms as well as the Auxiliary classes.  Meet us in your child's VPK classroom at 8:15. We will walk over to the Elementary Building together. This is a great way for you and your child to see what our Kindergarten Program is all about. It will be a treat! 
Senior Scholarship Information
Best and Brightest
Information on the Best and Brightest is available now. This is a great scholarship opportunity for seniors. Contact Mr. Lieser for a application. All information is due in the gym office by January 28th.

Bright Futures
Make sure that you have registered for Bright Futures at the Department of Education website.  Everyone needs to sign up.

Tallahassee Community College
Make sure that you have applied for scholarships on the TCC website.  Mrs. Bennett will be here Thursday morning, February 4th to meet with all seniors.

FAFSA
The FAFSA application is available for all seniors to complete to earn scholarships and grants.

Parchment
Juniors and Seniors-   Remember you can have your transcripts sent electronically through your Parchment account almost anywhere for free.
 
 
Tenth Grade Students
Applications will be due on February 12th. Students selected will serve with YLT during the 2016-17 school year.
Girls State
The deadline to apply for Girls State is February 1st. Tallahassee Unit 13 also requires participation in the Americanism Essay Contest. The essay should not exceed 500 words on the topic and must be submitted with the Application/Permission form by the February 1st deadline. The essay topic is: "How Can I Encourage My Friends to Show Pride in Being an American."
Eagle Sports
Baseball 
Congratulations to the Senior baseball players that signed scholarships this week. Trey Pearce, Taylor Schmidt, and Brandon Schmidt all signed with Pasco Hernando Community College in Tampa.   
College Boards
SAT 
The March 5th SAT will be under the new format. The deadline to register is February 5th. Testing will also take place on May 7th and June 4th.   
ACT  
There are two more opportunities to take the ACT for this school year.
April 9th - Register by March 4th
June 11th - Register by May 6th

Tenth and Eleventh grade students should have received the results of their PSAT testing from mid October by way of email from College Board this past week.

Worlds Finest  
It's that time of year! We will be kicking off our World's Finest Chocolate sale during the first week of February. These delicious chocolate covered almonds are a huge hit and sell easily during this sweet time of year.

The students also enjoy the incentives they receive for selling each case of candy.
What will the key chain be this year? A duck? Or a penguin? We will know the answer soon!     
Dancing Little Stars
It's not too late for your child to join Dancing Little Stars! We have a couple open spots in our Tuesday 3 pm class. So, if you would like your child to learn to do ballet and tap on NFC campus during after school hours, please contact Jessica Thompson at thompsonjs4@gmail.com or 850-591-1747. Enrollment closes in February.
