NFC's annual homecoming week is here! SGA is gearing up for some exciting events including t-shirt sales, dress up days, the annual powder puff game, our second annual powder puff pre-game BBQ, the annual homecoming parade and of course the crowning of our Homecoming King and Queen.
Tickets for the BBQ on Thursday are on sale for $5.50. They must be purchased by Tuesday.

PSAT - October 14
Students in grades ten and eleven will be taking the PSAT on October 14th. Students should have received an Official Student Guide to the Exam with practice material and information about Khan Academy for extra help. All students should be working through the practice opportunities. If you did not get the guide, we still have a few available in the office.
Varsity Jackets
Students that have participated in a varsity sport or currently participating in a varsity sport may be eligible to purchase an NFC varsity letter jacket. The jacket representative will be on campus to take orders on Wednesday, October 14. A deposit of $100 will be required to purchase the jacket. Order forms are available in the gym office. They are also available here.
HarvestFest and Silent Auction November 6th
Please help us with our annual Harvest Fest and Silent Auction. You can volunteer your time, donate money or go to businesses to ask for Silent Auction items. This fundraiser helps us provide our students with the kind of education to prepare them for the future. If you have any questions, simply call one of the school offices.
SAT and ACT Testing
The SAT will change formats beginning with the March testing administration.There are only three more SAT administrations under the old format. The new format will begin with the March 5th testing. Go to: sat.org

Bright Futures requires an 1170 for the Medallion Scholarship from the Verbal and Math portions. The Bright Futures Academic Scholarship requires a 1290 from the Verbal and Math portions.
The next ACT Test date is October 24th.
Little Eagle Basketball - Coming Soon!
Little Eagles Basketball is coming this November!!!
Available for girls and boys in grades 1st-5th.
Dates: November 14, 21, 30 and December 5, 12, 19
Cost: $50-Includes a team jersey, instructional clinics and two half-time showcases where players will play a game at half-time of a varsity or junior varsity game.
3K and 4K will be visiting the Pumpkin Patch at Faith Presbyterian on October 20th. Leon the Lifesaver (EMS) will also be visiting us to share how important their job is in our community on October 29th.
5K will be visiting the Fire Station On October 23rd.
Big Bend All American Scholar
Jedidiah Jones has been selected as a Big Bend All American Scholar for the second year in a row and is now eligible to apply for the POP Warner National Little Scholar award. He received this award last year as he was selected in the top 2% of the 350,000 participants and was honored in San Diego at their National POP Warner meeting. Jedidiah will find out in April if he has been selected to win the national title this year too.
We are proud of Jedd, and look forward to hearing how he does with the competition.
Junior League of Tallahassee
Congratulations to both Sierra Porter and Anslee Williams who were chosen to be on the Junior League of Tallahassee Teen Board. They will be representing NFCS at a variety of events and doing community service with The Junior League.
Blankets for Babies
The Jr. Civitan Club has launched their first community service project of the year, Blankets for Babies. They are collecting new baby blankets to distribute to several area agencies that help moms in need such as A Woman's Pregnancy Center and Refuge House. If your church or organization would be wiling to help them make this a community wide project, please contact their advisor, Ashley Odom (ashleyodom@nflchurch.com) or the Jr. Civitan president, Bethany O'Leary for more information. SGA Bags
SGA is selling NFC shopping bags in the school offices and at Friday night football games this fall. Bags are $2 and proceeds go to fund SGA activities this year.

Don't forget to cut out Box Tops and send them in every Tuesday. It is a great way to help our school!
