West Point Major Coming to NFCS
Major Bull with the West Point Admissions Office will be here on campus Tuesday morning October 6th. Sign up in the gym office to meet with Major Bull. This meeting is for all students in grades 8-12 interested in attending West Point.  Please sign up in the Gym Office if you plan to attend.
PSAT - October 14
Students in grades ten and eleven will be taking the PSAT on October 14th. Students should have received an Official Student Guide to the Exam with practice material and information about Khan Academy for extra help. All students should be working through the practice opportunities. If you did not get the guide, we still have a few available in the office.  
ASVAB Test Results
asvab The Juniors took the ASVAB a couple of weeks ago. Staff Sgt. Kitchens will be here this coming Tuesday to do an interpretation of the testing. By going through the results along with a specialized booklet, students will learn what their top three career possibilities might be at this point.
Moms in Prayer
What if you could change the world - not just for today but for generations to come? Moms in Prayer International believes that lives and whole communities are changed forever when moms gather together to pray. Moms can make the difference - moms just like you. SAT and ACT Testing
The SAT will change formats beginning with the March testing administration.There are only three more SAT administrations under the old format.   The new format will begin with the March 5th testing.

Bright Futures requires an 1170 for the Medallion Scholarship from the Verbal and Math portions. The Bright Futures Academic Scholarship requires a 1290 from the Verbal and Math portions.  

The next ACT Test date is October 24th.
Saturday Morning Physics
Saturday Morning Physics begins at Florida State University September 19th thru November 7th at 9:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. The program is free and open to high school students and parents. The sessions are held in Room 101 (the large Lecture hall) in the Richards Undergraduate Physics Laboratory at FSU. For more information, go to: http://www.physics.fsu.edu/Outreach/SMP
Varsity Athletic Jackets
NFCS Students that have participated in a varsity sport or are currently participating in a varsity sport may be eligible to purchase an NFC varsity letter jacket.  The jacket representative will be on campus to take orders on Thursday, October 15.  A deposit of $100 will be required to place an order.  Order forms are available in the gym office, or you can print it out here.

Little Eagles Basketball is coming this November!!!
Available for girls and boys in grades 1st-5th

Dates: November 14, 21, 30 and       December 5, 12, 19
Cost: $50-Includes a team jersey, instructional clinics and two half-time showcases where players will play a game at half-time of a varsity or junior varsity game.

Volleyball Teams Wins Local Tournament
The Girls Varsity Volleyball team came out on top on Saturday avenging an earlier loss to Christ Church of Jacksonville, winning the decisive game in the championship of the Battle of the Borders Tournament, Classic Division. NFC beat Godby 3-1 and Escambia 3-0 on Friday before a tough 5 set loss to Christ Church early Saturday morning. After beating Altha 3-0 they earned a spot in the championship match. Alicia Price led the way with 36 kills, 34 service aces and 92 digs. Alexis Poppell added 35 kills and 11 blocks. Rebecca Caudill led the team with 60 assists and also had 60 digs. Martha Spooner chipped in with 29 kills and 68 digs. Sydney McAtee led the team with 13 blocks, several in critical situations. The team is working hard this year to get back to the District Finals.
Box Tops for Education
NFCS Preschool and Elementary are collecting Box Tops. Each Tuesday our volunteers will collect and record Box Tops. Students will have opportunities to win rewards while helping our school earn money. We have purchased PE Equipment, art supplies, computer programs, musical instruments and everything in our Elementary Science Lab with this program. Last year our school earned $1974.60. If you would like to help with Box Tops on Tuesday mornings, please contact the Elementary Office at extension 153.

SGA is selling NFC shopping bags in the school offices and at Friday night  football games this fall. Bags are $2 and  proceeds go to fund SGA activities this year.
