Meridian Run

Make plans to attend the 2nd Annual North Florida Christian School Meridian Run on April 25, 2015 at 8:00 am. You can walk or run the 1 mile Fun Run, the 5K or the 10K. For information on running or volunteering, go to www.meridianrun.com. All proceeds go to help our school.

West Point Meeting
|
There will be an information meeting on Thursday, April 30 for students in 8th-11th grade interested in attending West Point. The meeting will be at 1:30 pm in H301. Students will have the opportunity to speak to a West Point Major. Please sign up in the gym if you plan on attending.

Cheer Tryouts
|
Cheerleading tryouts will be held in the gym May 4th-8th from 3:30-5:30. Cheer is available for those entering grades 6 through 12. Tryout packets are available in the athletic and elementary offices. For more information please contact Nicolette Phillips at nicolettephillips@nflchurch.com.

Eagle Sports
|
The representatives from Champion Collegiate Recruiting Services will be on campus Monday, April 27th at 6:00 p.m. in classroom 103 N in the gym. They were recently at NFC to speak with students and are returning to meet with any parents that might have questions. Please look at their website at www.playsportsincollege.com Their services are very affordable and not a typical recruiting service. It may be worth your time to stop by and speak with them Monday evening.
Softball
The Lady Eagles won their 4th consecutive District Championship with a 7-1 victory over Rocky Bayou Christian. They won the 3A Region quarterfinal game on April 22nd. The Lady Eagles will travel to play St. John's Country Day on Tuesday, April 28rh at 4 pm for the Regional Semi-Final. Go Eagles!
Baseball
The varsity baseball team is currently 16-9. The Eagles will play in the District finals on Thursday, April 23 at 7:00 p.m. at John Paul II against Maclay.
Track

Jr/Sr Banquet
|
Make plans now to attend the Jr/Sr Banquet on May 15th at the Golden Eagle Country Club. This annual event is the culmination of the year and all juniors and seniors and their guests are invited to attend. Tickets will go on sale this week in the athletic office and will be $35 each.

HIgh School Chorus
|
Any high school students interested in participating in Chorus next year should sign up in the middle school office. We will need at least 10 students to sign up in order to consider the class. Please see Mrs. Burgess or Mr. Lieser for more details.

It's Time for Re-enrollment
|
Enrollment for the 2015-2016 school year is officially open! This includes re-enrollment for current students and meeting with new families who are choosing NFC for the upcoming school year. This year we have a new re-enrollment schedule. The re-enrollment fee is $200, however, there is a benefit for early re-enrollment.April $150 will apply to August tuition May $100 will apply to August tuition Re-enrollments completed after May 31st will result in a flat $200 per student fee, with no application towards August tuition. All payments are non-refundable. You may complete the re-enrollment process by using our RenWeb on-line program. Select the Family Information Tab on the left, and then click Enrollment/Reenrollment. You will be guided through the process concluding with payment. Our office personnel will be glad to assist you and answer any questions you may have.

NFC Summer Camps
| NFC offers a variety of camps this summer for students in grades 1-6. Please see the dates below for a full list. Camp is from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day for a cost of $160 including lunch. Aftercare is available from 3:30-5:45 for an additional cost of $50 for the week. Brochures should be available soon. Vacation Bible School North Florida Baptist Church

Everest VBS is coming soon! North Florida Baptist Church will be having Vacation Bible School on June 22nd-26th from 9am-noon. Join us for a week full of games, singing, snacks, and crafts as we learn about God's Mighty Power!
Children who have completed 3 year old preschool and are completely potty trained through children entering 6th grade can be registered.
All middle school and high school students are invited to volunteer to help. This week provides 20 hours of community service!

TCC Dual Enrollment
|
Open Enrollment for Dual Enrollment began on April 20th.Please remember classes will be filling up for the Fall. Enrollment will be on a first come, first serve basis. College ready ACT, SAT, or PERT scores are required along with an un-weighted GPA of a 3.0. (On the TCC website under Dual Enrollment)
If your child needs to take the PERT test to qualify for the required scores, please contact the Guidance Office.
If your student is planning to do any Dual Enrollment next school year, we need to fill out the required permission forms. We will have to select the section and hour for the course and insert the reference number. You are able to go to the TCC website and look at the course schedule for this coming Fall.
Current Eleventh grade students who want to take classes on the TCC campus need to do this right away next week. Remember: Classes open to everyone and they will go on a first come, first serve basis. Do NOT wait!
Seniors who have been Dual Enrollment Students at NFC, need to fill out a Florida Residency Form to continue on to TCC. See the Guidance Office to pick up and return a form. The form needs to be filled out based on the parent information.

College Boards Testing

There are only a couple of more opportunities to sign up to take the SAT and the ACT.
The SAT will be offered on May 2nd and June 6th.
The ACT will be offered on June 13th.

The Girl's Basketball Team is selling snow cones every Friday after school on the Elementary Playground. They are $2. What a great way to stay cool on a warm afternoon!

This Friday, our elementary and middle school students will be participating in the FACCS Regional Jr. Fine Arts Competition in Crestview. Students will compete in instrumental, vocal, speech, and art categories. Please pray for safety as they travel. We will post a list of the results in our next Eagles View.

7th and 8th Grade Class Trip

Please keep our 7th and 8th graders in prayer next week while they are on their class trip to Washington,DC. A full week is planned. A highlight of the trip will be the opportunity to visit with Fox News Correspondent Shannon Bream, a graduate of NFCS. |
This year's high school drama will take place on Thursday, April 30th and Friday, May 1st. Mrs. Parker and the students are in rehearsals now and look forward to bringing us another great show. Please mark your calendars and make plans to attend one of the performances.

Beginning April 27th students with overdue books and outstanding fines will not be allowed to check out library books. Please look for Overdue Notices that will be coming home with your child if needed. Thank you for your help in assisting us with this matter.

Senior Information Sheets

Seniors were given information sheets that need to be completed for graduation. Please ask your student about this form and assist them with filling it out. The form can be returned to Mrs. Parker or Mrs. Burgess and should be in by Friday, May 8th.

Youth Leadership Tallahassee

Congratulations to Juniors Bethany O'Leary, Drew Inman and Aimee Williams for completing the Youth Leadership Tallahassee program during this school year.

Our Lost and Found box on the breezeway is getting full! Please be sure to check our red and black Lost and Found box outside of Coach Cole's office for any items you may be missing so far this year. Please be sure to check before the end of the year as we will be donating any items after that date to the James 215 project for those in need.

Essay Contest Winner
Helena Mavridoglu won the Patriot Pen contest for the VFW Post 3308 in Tallahassee. She received a letter of congratulations and a check for $100. She wrote the esssay in Mr. Knight's Leadership class.

Our 3rd-5th grade talented Jr. Players presented the musical Annie Jr. They had two outstanding shows. Congratulations to a job very well done!
