Thanksgiving Lunch

On Tuesday, November 25th, we will be serving Thanksgiving Dinner in the Eagle Caf�. This will be the only meal available for purchase. The cost will be $6.00 for children and adults. You are welcome to join your child for lunch. Because of the large number joining us the Eagle Caf� Lunch prepaid system will not be used for the Thanksgiving lunch.

Eagle Sports
Cross Country 
Congratulations to Chase Savary for competing at the FHSAA State Cross Country Final. Chase earn the right to compete by qualifying at the district and regional meets this season.    



Football
The Eagle Football team will travel to Jacksonville tonight to take on University Christian in the 2A North Region Semi-Final game.    Game time is 7:30 p.m.   If you can't make the game follow the updates on Twitter  @NFC_Football

Basketball

Congratulations to Rosanna Jenije on scoring her 2000th career point for the girls basketball team.  Rosanna is the all time leading scorer for the Lady Eagles.

 

Congratulations to the Varsity Girls Basketball team for starting the season 3-0.  The girls will be in action Monday at NFC v. Chiles starting at 6:00 p.m.  

Scholarship Signings

Congratulations to Tiffani Railey, Chris Corniel, and Cole Sands for signing  athletic scholarships.  Tiffani signed to play softball at University  of Alabama at Birmingham,  Cole Sands signed to play baseball at Florida State, and Chris Corniel committed to Tallahassee Community College to also play baseball.  

Talquin Electric Coop
Youth Tour for Juniors

Every year, Talquin Electric Cooperative sponsors outstanding students in the service area (Gadsden, Leon, Liberty and Wakulla Counties) to participate in a two day statewide conference called the Talquin Youth Tour. These students qualify by submitting an essay which is available at www.talquinelectric.com or any Talquin Member Service Office.  Students are selected based on community involvement, academic achievement, public speaking, and proven leadership skills. Best and Brightest
  best Students with a positive track record of community service, academic achievement and leadership skills are encouraged to apply for a Best and Brightest Scholarship. Students can win up to $1500 in 15 different categories. For more information and to apply for the scholarship, click here.
SAT / ACT Testing

Please note the following testing opportunities. Only two opportunities are left this semester. Remember that you must have a proper photo ID and an admission ticket to be admitted into the testing site.

The deadline for registering for the tests has past. You can still register, but there is an additional fee for registering for the tests after the deadline. Please visit the web sites for additional information.   

Moms in Prayer
Moms, grandmas, and aunts - experience the joy of replacing anxiety with peace and hope when you pray scripturally and specifically for your children and North Florida Christian School. Moms in Prayer meets on Tuesdays, from 8:30 - 9:30 am, in the Library Resource Room. We invite you to pray with us! National Honor Society
National Honor Society applications will be available beginning Thursday, November 20th.  Students in grades 9-12 may pick up an application from Mrs. Gorham in 102N.  Students must have a 3.0 GPA, and must exhibit leadership and community service.  Applications are due back to Mrs. Gorham by Friday, December 5th.  Please email Mrs. Gorham at hollygorham@nflchurch.com if you have any questions.
Girls State

The local chapter of the American Legion Auxiliary each year sponsors Girls State, which is a week-long intensive study and practice of government by participation at the City, County and State levels, in the "State of Seminole".  This is a wonderful program for a young lady to be able to participate.  For more information, read the attached brochure, information sheet, and application.  

 

Tallahassee Unit 13 also requires an Americanism Essay. This means an essay not to exceed 500 words on the topic "How can I encourage my friends to show pride in being an American" which must be submitted with the Application/Permission form by the February 1, 2015 deadline.

Join the Legacy Wall
Have you noticed the new retaining wall in front of the home stands at the football field?  We are currently under construction. Thanks to Kelly Brothers we have completed the foundation of our new Legacy Wall. It is the cornerstone to the future athletic center.   More information concerning the Legacy Wall is available by going to www.nfclegacy.org     Here you will find information about how to be a part of the Legacy Wall. All proceeds from Legacy Wall sales will go toward the construction of the new facility.
Money Machine Fun
Clayton Aselton got to go into the money machine as a fundraiser reward and won $30!
