Learn More at Reveille Today

If you are discerning whether to become a member at Reveille UMC, please attend Reveille Today, a class designed by members to help visitors learn more about our church. In three sessions over three weeks, participants will find out about the opportunities our congregation offers for worship, discipleship, and service. The last session centers on discovering your individual spiritual gifts so you can begin thinking about how you can best serve God and humanity in the church and in the world.

The next Reveille Today series begins on Sunday, April 14, and will continue on April 21 and 28 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the Reveille House dining room. Participants in this spring's course will have an opportunity to join the church on Sunday, May 19. Please register with Katie B. Anthony here or by calling 359-6041, ext. 111. Be sure to let Katie know if you need child care.

Derek Jones and Michelle Wolff will facilitate. Derek has produced curriculum for youth ministry, and Michelle is a Ph.D. candidate at Duke University. Both have extensive training in Christian ethics and practical decision-making. The cost for the event is $30, payable to Reveille UMC by April 30.

Possess Plenty of Pants, Perhaps?

On May 18, Reveille's youth ministry will provide a prom for approximately 70  stuPromdents at United Methodist Family Services. Many of these students come from  families without the resources to purchase appropriate dress clothes. While Reveille has provided prom dresses for the junior and senior girls, we still need help for the boys and young men.

We can use suits, slacks, dress shirts, tuxedoes, shoes, and other accessories. There is a coat rack in the youth center for donations. Please feel free to hang clothing items on the rack at any time. For more information please email Dwayne  in the church office.  We would like to end the collection on April 14 to allow time for alterations.

UMW Bake Sale was a Success!

The Palm Sunday bake sale raised more than $1,270 for local charities. The United Methodist Women (UMW) will again fund two children from the Swansboro community to attend camp this summer at Westview-On-The-James.

A special thank-you goes to all the UMW members who participated, especially Donna Fay Kessel, who provided the beautiful quilts as decoration and arrived first thing Sunday morning to set it all up. Thanks, also, to all who purchased baked goods.

Annually, the United Methodist Women host two bake sales that provide funding for the missions supported by the circles and also promote intergenerational opportunities for circle members to work together.
