Housing Starts Back Above One Million Mark

From Wells Fargo Economics GroupHousing starts in March rose at a 1.04 million unit rate, the first time starts have risen at a one million-unit plus pace since mid-2008. Previous months' data were also revised higher. Multifamily units were the driver of March's gains, increasing 31.1 percent over the month. While volatile on a monthly basis, multifamily is up 85 percent over the past year as demand for apartments remains strong amid tight mortgage conditions. Single-family starts fell 4.8 percent in March following a significant upward revision in February. The trajectory for the single-family market continues upward, but builders appear to be struggling with credit issues for lot development and rising construction costs. The NAHB index fell for the third straight month in April, and with permits running below starts in March, construction will likely proceed at a more modest pace in April. |

Pride Family Brands Launches
Consumer Advertising Campaign

Pride Family Brands, current two-time winner of the Manufacturer of the Year for Luxury Aluminum Casual Furnishings, announces the 2013 launch of a co-sponsored consumer advertising campaign. This marketing program is being undertaken in an effort to promote the Castelle brand and assist retail partners in regional promotion to the consumer marketplace. Pride Family Brands is utilizing Sandow Media's Luxe Magazine for the initial launch of the program.
