Restoration Hardware Opens New Boston Gallery
CORTE MADERA, CALIFORNIA
Restoration Hardware opened another of its Gallery stores today. This one is in the tony Back Bay district of Boston, at the corner of Boylston and Exeter streets. For those not familiar with Boston, this is New England's answer to California's Rodeo Drive.
If you're looking for Guuci, Hermes, Armani or any other of the world's true luxury brands, then you're likely to find it here.
To top it off, Resto is located in the beautiful stone and brick building that once housed the New England Museum of Natural History. The 40,000 sq. ft. will provide ample room for the company's high-class furnishings, along with a bit more that will house a restaurant (small plates) with offering of both beer and wine.
If you're looking to make your store a destination area, offering food, wine and beer is a logical move. That should give the men something to do while the wives shop. Actually, you could just add a TV with a good sports channel and you would have to pry the men off those high-end chairs.
THIS JUST IN: The word on the Internet is that planning for the Grand Opening, held last evening, may have been the "worst in Boston party history." Apparently the maximum capacity for the building is 2,000 people, and partygoers numbered substantially beyond that figure.
