After scouting out the Warcamp, our mercenaries entered from 2 directions. Isbjorn from the South, Gerdi & Aoth from the North. The armies slowly gathered outside of the Warlord's tent. Each lining up in their battle groups.
No one flinched when a robed diplomat exited the tent. He spoke some time with a practiced pace and inflection. He was obviously well trained as a public speaker. Isbjorn waited nervously for his target to emerge.
When the Diplomat excused the army Isbjorn called out the Warlord. The battle groups reformed and a eerie silence fell over the war-camp.
When Hurrshukh burst out of the tent there was a an excitement to it. A Drama that was palpable. As he spoke, all became enthralled with his words. Even Isbjorn found himself hanging on every syllable.
Soon the Warlord moved into the arena. Isbjorn was ushered inside as Hurrrshukh continued to monologue. His words were so eloquent, yet now it is hard to recall. He spoke of truly knowing his opponent, that their dance will reveal all.
He took a case from a rack of weapons. Walked to the center of the arena and opened it. an orb of metal and runes floated above the field of battle. Parts seemed to wind and whir like gears and hinges. Soon a haze fell over all, and magic was extinguished.
Frieghtened by this new turn of events, Isbjorn sprang forward as soon as Hurrshukh touch the hilt of a pitted old greatsword at the weapon rack.
A furious charge from a magnificent Dire Bear dug deep into the flesh of the spry Dragonkin. Bloood hit the sand from the lacerations, but the Dragonkin was faster than Isbjorn could have imagined. His Greatsword cut deep into the bear.
Fleeting moments, and pools of blood soaked the sand of the arena. An unconcious Orc lay beneath the feet of a victorious Hurrshukh. He spoke to a cheering, adoring, war-camp like a celebrated bard to the masses. He retrieved the orb and his healers carted the almost dead Isbjorn away.
What happened next in the camp is uncertain. Aoth and Gerdi followed Isbjorn into a tent where his body was being prepared for travel. He was healed only enough to be moved. Keeping him unconscious seemed to be important.
Gerdi and Aoth made short work of the healers and servants before a certain Drow walked into the tent. The Bear had to be subdued before running out into the masses. The group ran as the Drow pursued. They managed to escape into the old ruins across the river.
