D&D:  On the Road,
to the Tower...

Session 12 Recap &

Experience

Session 12:  On the Road, to the Tower...
Sub-Plot:  Get me outta this Swamp!
Encountering a 12 headed hydra certainly spices up the life stories.  The Battle Horn of Tempus had only just surmised that the vicious beast attacking caravans and legions of heroes must be a Hydra when the beast bounded over the hill and attacked.

Isbjorn & Lance valiantly charged forward into battle.  Elan successfully ensnared 4 heads into a net, but the beast was simply too strong and tore the net into thousands of useless strands.  Aoth nimbly tumbled behind the beast giving his comrades some much needed flanking.  As our 3 heroes ripped into the beast it's wounds kept closing.  Prayer after prayer from Liam bolstered the parties confidence.  Elan moved up, her might combined with the fury of Isbjorn's claw strikes set Lance up for the final killing blows.  Almost everyone was covered in Hydra's blood as the Battle Horn of Tempus prevailed over the Massive Hydra.  The group burnt the creatures body to be sure it wouldn't rise again.
Session 12:  On the Road, to the Tower...
Completed!
Deep in a ravine the group found the portal.  Crystals sparked to life with a few commands from Liam, who didn't quite seem himself.  Lance managed to push the horses forward and the entire party emerged in a much different place.  Fields with grass and fruit bearing trees were everywhere.  The sun was much warmer, and the air smelled of flowers.  Behind them a Stone wall, obviously a sheer face long ago broken off of a much larger rock-face.  It is etched with arcane symbols that seem ancient.

After a short ride a road was found, well traveled and easy to navigate.  Before long the group entered the village of Eveningstar.  Food, drink, songs, and daning before the group retired for the night.  In the morning a short journey out of town and down a river path leading into a dense forest gave way to Cayn's Tower.  Footsteps and signs of campers were found near the tower, but no one was about.

The group entered the tower, which was much larger on the inside.  Liam went up, but came down without a ring or a "passanger".  Not long after Cayn came down and thanked the group.  Cayn was thrilled to have his body back and asked the group when they wanted to head to the north.  He explains that it will only take him a few moments to case the spell needed to activate the Etched Wall to send them as requested.  This sparked a bit of a discussion.  The group is currently relaxing in his tower enjoying some tea and cookies while deciding their next move.
