Session 8:  On the Road
Sub-Plot:  Along came a Bear...
The group decides not to waste anytime in the small trading town.  Barely an hour outside of the small community a Large and intimidating Brown Bear moves onto the road.  Liam recognizes immediately that the Bear isn't normal.

Isbjorn is immediately intrigued and approaches the Bear, the creature changes into a beautiful but very out of place human woman.  The two talk, then she strikes him, leaving bloody scratches across his face.  Elan approaches worried about Isbjorn but he meets her half way, handing her his axe.

Isbjorn says he will catch up and leaves chasing after the woman as she sprints into the forrest.

Session 8:  On the Road
Sub-Plot:  Building an Army...
Nearing the end of a full day of travel Liam notices a peculiar sight ahead.  Lance notices the wagon, but Liam's keen gaze reveals that the wagon is being ransacked and there are bodies on the ground in the road.  A plan is quickly put together, Elan moves to the roof while Aoth is ready to jump out the back.  Liam has Lance drive them within 80 feet of the wagon ahead.

The dead woman and her children is enough to seal the fates of these bandits, Elan lets loose an arrow that find's it mark in the chest of an armored assailant.  After 5 rounds of bloody combat all that stand are Aoth-Ma, a Human Wizard, and presumably a single rider that rode off at the start of the fight.  Aoth is able to avoid detection long enough to launch the perfect shot from his crossbow.   The bolt severs an artery and leaves the wizard unconcious on the road.  Thank Tempus Aoth is able to revive Liam who quickly goes to work on Elan and Lance.

Liam is also able to revive the Wagon Owner, who was only barely hanging on.  He was extremely distraught over the loss of his family.  Begging and pleading Liam finally gives in and writes an introduction that should allow him to deal with the House of Heros for the lives of his family.

Not wanting to stay at the scene of such a bloodbath, the group forces the horses to ride a bit further until Lance locates a more secluded spot for the night.  Aoth-Ma hides atop some rockes to watch over the camp.  Very late into watch he spies a single rider take interesting in their tracks leaving the road.  The single individual dismounts and stares long and hard toward the rocky outcropping they are concealed behind.  Eventually Aoth makes a move to warn the others.

Immediately Lance Liam and Elan beging to Arm and Armor themselves and each other.  The time it takes to don full plate is too much for Aoth, who moves out to check on their tail.  He is shocked to rise just over a rock and see the loaded longbow held by an Elf meet his gaze.  He ducks, and runs back to the wagon to warn the others.  Liam and Lance make a shield wall and move into the open.  It becomes apparent to Elan and Aoth that their tail has left.

Awake and a little shook up the group decides it's time to leave.  Within the hour Elan realizes they are still being followed by the persistent elf.  A plan is made and Aoth is dropped off to ambush their tail.  When the group returns to pick up Aoth, it is explained that a deal was made and their tail has agreed to break off from the hunt.  A warning is given that more will be after them, but they are 2 days behind.
