We will begin the game with all of our players in the Wailing Warrior Tavern. It is raining heavily on a Fall evening in the village of Aphail. You are several days travel east of Waterdeep. Aphail is on a major trade road and near a large river that runs to the sea.
You have what food or drink you desire (within your limits). There is a raging fire in the fireplace and a modest bar. It's tended by a Gnome you've heard patrons call Briltz. It is late, and the tavern is fairly empty. The Inn is full but the Tavern is said to be open all night.
If you have a mount, the stable hand says you are welcome to sleep with your horse. Otherwise, you are going to have to strategize if you don't want to sleep outside in the rain.
Briltz excused his rather attractive bar maid a few minutes earlier. She quickly gathered her cloak and a small stachel and set out in the rain. You heard him call her Anisa, human, is about 15 with long brown hair and an innocent smile.
Still in the Tavern is a very intoxicated Dwarven Warrior, he has been singly softly to himself for the last 3 hours. You are pretty sure he isn't concious, but occasionally he blurts out a loud verse or two before slupming down again.
The only other patron is a half-elf woman perched at the end of a bench. She is wearing worm studded leather and keeps throwing a dagger down into the bench before snickering and retrieving it. She has an old book open on the table that she is intenting reading. |
