Auntie Wooly Says:
Dahlings! As I travel the world, Cambria is never far from my heart or my thoughts. I also am often in warm places as that tends to be my preference as well. So what to do for knitted pieces while I'm away?
Try this, the Cambria Cobblestone Scarf. I knitted this up in Austerman Summer Tweed, a lovely cotton blend. This yarn has no wool so it's perfect for those evenings dining on the beach, or in the desert.
Until next time... Happy Stitching, My Dears! Auntie W.

We won an award - again
We really don't want to brag, but we thought we'd share, as it reflects on how wonderful all of you are. It seems we were awarded the "All-Star Award" from Constant Contact for the 3rd year in a row! Constant Contact is the service we use to send our email newsletters.
One receives this award by having emails people actually read, aren't flagged as spam, and by generally being a good 'internet citizen'. So thank you all for accepting our little missive into your lives. It touches us deeply that you spend time reading our little newsletter from our quiet corner of the world.

So much going on!
Sorry for the long delay in writing, but we've been a tad busy. In March we had our second fun-filled Weekend Away with Gwen Bortner. Knitters from as far away as Boston came to spend the weekend how to measure and design a sweater. Hard to imagine getting through that in one weekend, but we did and we had fun doing it. Look for news in the future about the next edition of A Weekend Away!
Other events coming up for the year include our trip in June to the Summer TNNA trade show where we'll be meeting with vendors, looking for the latest and greatest in the world of fiber for all of you! Oz isn't teaching this summer while he works on new classes to present at future shows.
We always look forward to 4th of July here in Cambria. It's a full day of fun and sun ending with a fireworks show over Moonstone Beach after sunset. Come join us, there's always room for one more at the beach!
August is heating up to be a busy month. The weekend of August 9 we're expecting a visit from Mira Cole of Baah Yarns. We're in love with these beautifully dyed, machine washable yarns from California! The extra bonus is when we learned Mira and her husband spent their honeymoon in Cambria! More details as we get closer to the date.
Saturday August 31 starts the Labor Day weekend and once again we're going to see our good friends from Pagewood Farm in the shop for a couple of days of fun and fiber. Also known as Pinedorado Days in Cambria, Labor day weekend is always a great time in town!
We're also setting a date for the return of Alchemy Yarns. We had such a great time last year with Gina and Austin we wanted to bring them back for another trip.
Saturday, September 7 is also the date for a reading and trunk show from Cheryl Potter, author of "The Broken Circle", book one of The Pot Luck Yarn Trilogy. Potluck Yarn is a new trilogy combining fantasy with fiber. Follow the twelve knitting witches through adventures fraught with mayhem and mischief and knit your way through 21 patterns as the Potluck witches seek to save their world.
The book and pattern book are available in the shop now!
October brings the return of Auntie Wooly and the Scarecrow festival as well as our journey to exhibit at Interweave Knitting Lab in San Mateo.
The biggest event we are working on right now, is a trip to Peru! We don't have all the details now, but the plan is next spring (April/May time frame) to take a 9 day trip to Peru to visit the land where we get so much beautiful fiber. We'll see Lima, the capitol of Peru, meet Llama and Alpaca producers, meet the native local people, and experience the beauty and wonder of Machu Picchu. Stay tuned as we will have a presentation in the store this summer talking about what we'll see, where we'll go, and what to expect. So, get your passport, start planning your days off, and come join us for an adventure you won't soon forget!
There's always possibilities of more surprise guests and events, so stay tuned here, our web site, as well as like us on our Facebook page to stay in touch with all the latest!.

Some New Stuff!
Hand-dyed in Southern California, Baah yarn is beautiful and robust. This Superwash Merino has a nice tight twist making it both strong and a delight to knit with. It comes in both a DK weight (called Sonoma) as well as a fingering weight (called La Jolla). Come see it in the shop, or see the colors on-line. Ask us for the simple lace shawl pattern that comes free with the purchase of two skeins of La Jolla. Alchemy Yarns released their new yarn as well. Rustico is a thick and thin 100% Tussah silk. It's got that beautiful silk sheen, feels wonderful and a bit 'rustic'. Knit on larger needles, it's perfect for those quick projects. Shown at right is our new " Roller Derby Scarf", designed in-house by our own Katy! The pattern takes two skeins and is free with purchase of the yarn. We have in stock in all 20 of their new colors. Click here to see them today! Yak! From the Tibetan plateau to you, Rewya Yak is soft, delicious, and so nice to knit with. It's available in a variety of beautiful colors as well as two natural colors. The brown, what they call Dancing Yak, is the more common of the two. Cloud, a luxurious white, is far more rare and costs a few pennies more. Ask us for the free one-skein cowl pattern with the purchase of this wonderful yarn! Click here to see them all on-line.We also received a lovely supply of sport weight linen from Euroflax. Linen is strong, machine washable, and has lots of drape. Click here to see the colors currently in stock. From Rowan, we've also brought in their Felted Tweed. Available in both DK and Aran weight it's perfect for those projects that need a touch of tweedy goodness. Thanks to a partnership with Trendsetter and Lotus, we also have Mink, Cashmere, and Hand-Spun Cashmere. Amazing, beautiful, full of wonderful fiber goodness. These yarns are so soft, so luxurious, so much fun! Click here to see the full range! The machine-spun cashmere comes in DK and chunky and the colors shown can be ordered in any of weights.
