With much anticipation and excitement, we, at TriCity Family Services are counting down the hours until our 25th Annual Benefit..."Silver Linings."

The support from our donors, friends, and the community has been absolutely amazing.  We are so thrilled to have a SOLD OUT event for the first time in the 25 years of benefit history!  With over 450 guests in attendance, our "Silver Linings" event is sure to be an evening of epic proportions.

We would be remiss if we did not give our "hats off" to the Friends of TriCity Family Services who, as we speak, are planning and preparing the last-minute details.  Lori Georgeson, Annual Benefit Event Chair, and the 2014 Benefit committee deserve praise for their efforts in devoting countless hours to ensuring that everything is in order, down to the last detail.

Thank you for everyone who has registered for the Annual Benefit, purchased a raffle ticket, or made a donation to our event.  On behalf of the staff at TCFS, we are looking forward to celebrating with you!

Attention Employers & Small Businesses,
Did you know that TCFS has an
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)?

What is an Employee Assistance Program (EAP)?

It is a free and confidential service that offers assistance to employees and their family members who are experiencing some type of personal or work-related problem.

It is a program sponsored by the employer that provides professional guidance and assistance to help identify practical solutions for everyday problems. The program is both voluntary and confidential- it is designed to allow employees to seek help on their own.

The EAP is a positive approach that helps employees resolve problems before they begin to affect their jobs.  Co-workers or supervisors may encourage an employee to call, or a referral may be made by a supervisor.

What services are offered through the EAP?

  • Face to face and telephone services to asses the problem and to map out a plan of action.
  • Assistance and referral for problem resolution.
  • Follow-up contact to ensure change is taking place and client satisfaction.
  • 24 hour/7 day a week availability for emergencies.
  • WorkLife telephonic and web based consultation, research and referral services.

To learn more about WorkLife please click here.

What kind of problems does the EAP address?

  • Marital, family or other relationship issues
  • Job stress/work related issues
  • Emotional stress, depression, or anxiety
  • Financial/Legal issues
  • Child care/Elder care issues
  • Alcohol/drug problems or other addictions
  • Grief/Loss

To learn more about the EAP program, please call (630) 232-1070 to speak to Laura Kowalski, Sr. Clinician/Consultant and EAP Coordinator, or Kathy Gibson, Sr. EAP Consultant.  Additional information can also be found at www.tricityfamilyservices.org.

Deb McGrath is Welcomed "Back" to TCFS!

On 2/25/14, agency staff were thrilled to welcome Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Deb McGrath, "back" to TCFS as the newest member of its growing pool of Part-time Hourly Therapists. A 1978 graduate of George Williams College's M.S. program in Counseling Psychology, Deb actually began her career in mental health at TCFS where she served as an Outreach Family Therapist from 1978 - 1983. After working for five years as an Individual & Family Therapist at Ecker Mental Health Center in Elgin, in 1989 Deb launched a distinguished career at the Illinois Math & Science Academy in Aurora where, for the next 23 years, she served as IMSA's Clinical School Counselor. Deb's wealth of experience, advanced clinical skills, and passion for working with teens and their families, promise to make this "retuning veteran" a great asset to the agency!
