Dear friends,
This term at Chavagnes has been a very full one. Plenty of fun on the sportsfield with a increasing number of matches against other schools in rugby and football, a series of successful camps and hikes for our intrepid Scouts de Chavagnes, impressive building and decoration works to the dormitory and Choir Room, some progress at the sports field (shorter grass and more white lines!) ...
This has also been our first term of the new 'DOUBLE DIPLOMA' Year 12, where 7 boys are pursuing their studies towards the French Baccalaurat and/or British A-levels.
So it has been a busy, hard-working term. And yet the boys still had time to visit several old peoples' homes to sing for the residents before the holiday, bringing them some Christmas cheer a little ahead of time. And what a joy to finish school with a wonderful service of readings and Christmas Carols; one of the best so far.
Please remember in your prayers Brother Stephen Morrison O Praem, a former Chavagnes boy (2002-2005), who is to be ordained to the diaconate on 5th January.

It is always a struggle to keep this spiritual and educational ship afloat, but we have been succeding with God's grace, and a little help from our friends, for almost twelve years. And now we are beginning to see the mature fruits, with more and more former pupils and young teachers beginning lives of service in priesthood or religious life, starting Catholic families and making a promising start in their careers, or following in our footsteps and embracing the vocation of the Catholic teacher.

Please think about giving us a small donation. If you are a French taxpayer, then why not make a small gesture of support before midnight 31st December? That way, you will be able to deduct two thirds of your gift from next year's tax return. Please also remember to tell your friends about us (we have a facebook page you can direct them to for our latest updates and photos). Your personal recommendation is the best way to promote the College. Most of all, please continue to remember us in your prayers in 2014. And you can rest assured of our prayers too; we pray for our benefactors daily because they are our partners in our work for young souls! With warmest Christmas and New Year wishes, Sincerely in Jesus and Mary,
Ferdi McDermott, Principal,
